The other day I was finished with my coffee at McDo's and coming back to my truck, across the street I noticed I had a flat front tire.
And from out of nowhere comes the "watch your car boy" and volunteers to change tires for me for 100p
It was very hot, and I didn't feel like getting dirty so I agreed to that.

What got my attention at first was the speed and competency of the boy changing the tire.
Where do watch your car boys get practice changing tires?

The second thing that I noticed, when he got the flat tire off, he was not interested in finding the offending nail or screw in my tire.
I've never seen a person fix a flat without the compulsion of rolling it around at least once to see what was stuck in it.

So, as he was installing the spare on the front, I walked to the back where the flat was in the bed of the truck I took off my valve cap, with built in valve tool and checked the tightness of the Schrader valve, sure enough it was loose.
At the tire shop, as I expected, no flat, just needed airing up and put er' back on the truck.

    So, lesson learned is....

Do not have the type of valve caps with the built on valve tool on the wheels of your vehicle here.
Get the plain metal ones. And tighten them with a pair of pliers.

It seems that the "watch your motorbike boys" near the Holy Child hospital also have an infamous reputation when your voluntary gift is not enough according to their opinion and next time be prepared your bike has to suffer their revenge.

    valves

The other little variation of the ' flat tyre' gag is that they will put a BB or small stone under your valve cap so's the tyre will slowly deflate on you .
Caught one of them in the act when I did not tip when being marshalled into a parking space[Like I need a 10 year old to tell me how to drive Sheesh ]
I have got into the habit of glancing at my tyres when coming out of Mcdonalds in Bacolod...O-|

I was at mackers with my asawa and was chating with a Brit guy who I think was ex mil. the watcher was puting bikes too close to his car, so the Brit told off the watcher because he had scratches before from him with bikes too close, the watcher said "you think you are tough" in cebuano, so the watcher could enjoy a healthy day we did not tell the Brit what the watcher said:o
