Still looking for a boxing style gym. Speed bag , heavy bags, free standing and hanging, and so on.
For 2 years I have been looking. I find it hard to believe that with Manny P. being a National hero that Dumaguete doesn't have a boxing gym ?
    Have a fantastic day.

Yes you are going to have trouble finding the kind of gym you want in Dumaguete. You could try "My Gym." Ask around you should be able to find it fairly easy.

I went there today. The place is a joke. Not even one punching bag. Don't waste your time.
    Have a great day.

There seems to be a new facility with those large boxing bags hanging

I am not involved in punching bags type exercise but on my high way ride home south of Robinson Mall I noticed a new "faclity" with those large punching bags hanging like dead pigs and all type of sport fighting equipment. Like I said, I know very little about the sport, other than recognizing the name "Manny." If you want me to post more about this facility then let me know. I can stop in and do some research for you as it is on my way home. It is located on the ocean side of the road, about 1 km south of Robinson Mall. It has a white metal grill across the front, and a sign up above it.

You can study Thai boxing with Khru Ike, not far from the market and the Gazebo Inn. He also teaches stick fighting.

I've seen his place as well. I think it's right before San Monica. Local place and I bet it is hot as hell but it's the Philippines. Looks like they have some old but proper boxing equipment.

    Here's a lead for you..possibly.

Over in Claytown, Daro there's a room rental place called Casa Demonteverde. If you stand at their entrance/exit and look across the lil dirt lane and slightly to the left (say 10 o'clock position of a clock dial) there's a boxing gym with no name on it. Heard a lot of bag hitting going on in there 2-3 days ago.

Hope it's what you're looking for...

IF you go to city high school thru the gates near the back on the side of the gym there is a place where they have a ring, punching bags and heavy bags. the guys there are all friendly and im sure for a small fee you can use the facility. good
