Following is the origin and chronological list of crap drivers here:
    1. It starts out with the little turds on their Bicycles, no smarts or discipline or road knowledge
    2. They advance to getting a piece of Crap Scooter and pick up more bad habits
    3. They then become Pedicab drivers... enough said
    4. Advancing to the next step to Easy Ride drivers, stopping anywhere anytime
    5. Promoted to Jeep drivers, they can now push their weight around
    6. When the need for speed gets the better of them they turn into Van drivers
    7. Last they make the tough decision to terrorize everyone by somehow becoming either Ceres drivers or large truck
    drivers.
    8. The real bad ones are lucky enough to become Manila taxi drivers.

LOL I AGREE, they park across the footpath making you walk out on the road to get past, they should paint over the the white lines on the ped crossings as no one dont stop 4 walkers . the quick n the dead
    cheers

Ceres Bus Drivers are some of the better ones.

I agree with almost everything you say except about the Ceres drivers. I think there are one of the safest ones on the road here in Dumaguete, although I would not put them in to an international contest. I enjoy riding my motorcycle behind them, beyond the pollution particles, they clear the road and you know no one is going to turn in front of you. Most are pretty courteous, and honk when approaching you from behind. I would appreciate the practice of honking at every bus and truck driver they pass in town to be discontinued.

I definite agreed with your conclusion regarding the pedicab drivers. What scares me the most is the shirts they wear meaning they have an association of drivers. With 2500 drivers, large families and probably almost an equal number of owners and families (most are rented to drivers) they do have a lot of political power within the town. They seem to use that power to drive anywhere they want to drive except one area in town. The don't drive north in front of the Catholic Church downtown by the park because there is a ban therefor pedicabs, and they actually follow it. I guess God (or the Catholic Church) is more powerful than the police here. They constantly have issues with other groups who want to them to operate in the areas they are licensed to operate, meaning not on certain roads including the highway to Daurin.
Sounds like the battle between the sugar cane trucks and the motorcycles who like to go without lights will begin soon on the Highway. Anyone want to start a helmet count?

No, it starts when they learn to walk. They learn to walk form their Mamas, who stop in front of an escalator to BS or txt, who step out in front of a big guy trekking with a backpack on, giving him no opportunity to stop before he mows the over on the sidewalk, who stop anywhere and everywhere to check for txt messages, who stroll slowly down the sidewalk, hand in hand with their friends, totally oblivious to those trying desperately to get around them.

It is ingrained in them at a very early age, much before they know what a bicycle is.

    Common sense is NOT common!

    Larry.

You beat me to it Larry.

Though I wonder if it really starts as an infant when you are allowed to wander at will around restaurants, malls etc with your powerless yaya following behind you?

    Of course,
If it wasn't for the Catholic church there wouldn't be any trike drivers.
