Now that Airphil Express is taking over the flights of Philippine air between Dumaguete and Manila, it may be a good idea to remind the traveling public that standard 10 kl checked luggage is included in the ticket price, and not 15 or 20as what you may expect.
You may buy extra luggage at the time of booking or at the time of check in.
At time of check in in the airport, paying for extra luggage is very, very expensive!
I was checking the website of Airphil Express for about 1 hour to find out how much it cost for extra luggage but i could not find it.
    Perhaps something for experts.

If your luggage is going to be Very heavy, shipping it as cargo instead can save lots of money btw.

This is the price that you pay for extra luggage at the time of booking your flight,
But how much do you pay in the airport when you have some overweight?

Ooops, PAL might be coming back soon:

PAL adds another flight for Dumaguete-Manila and vice versa route
    November 15, 2012 11:11 pm

DUMAGUETE CITY, Nov. 15 — Philippine Airlines spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said PAL added one more flight plying the Dumaguete-Manila route and vice versa in the wake of requests from businessmen and local officials.

Villaluna said an appropriate unit is assigned to come up with an assessment to determine the number of flights vis-à-vis demand and the needs of such a destination in terms of people and cargo.
To date, the Dumaguete-Manila route has five flights daily and one for Cebu-Dumaguete.

Former Finance Secretary Gary Teves said any endeavor should take into account a two-way situation because the airline company cannot just provide for an extra flight if it will not be beneficial for them.

Rep. Pryde Henry Teves of the 3rd district of Negros Oriental would love to see more flights as a gauge of how the tourism industry is working in the Negros Oriental.

This has been proven in several cities like Bacolod, Davao, Iloilo, Boracay and Bohol.
Rep. Teves considered this a challenge of the provincial government to be able to achieve this goal.

Rep. George Arnaiz of the 2nd district disclosed that during his term as governor in 1988, no flight was available and with five daily flights to date, this would mean the province’s accomplishments in pumping up the local tourism industry.

For his part, Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria said more flights for Dumaguete and the province would be better in terms of economic activity and that he is optimistic it will come in due time.

At present, PAL, the oldest airline company in Asia, is tapping the strength of another airline company which is the operating carrier for Dumaguete under the full domestic code share agreement, Villaluna pointed out. (PNA)
