    I wish to Warn/bring to the attention of Forum Members;

Angelou Sarga - approximately 23 years of age, stole a Cell Phone from my Girlfriend at Malatapay Barangay, Maluay on September 19th, 2012.

She has been reported to local Police who have informed my Girlfriend that Ange/Angelou is well known to local Police, and operates under many other aliases; she is wanted by Police in relation to 50+ similar offences.
Police are very interested in finding her.

Ange was last known to be staying in Buntis, Bacong, Negros Oriental and according to family members, is on the run from Police, so is not one to stay in one place for any length of time.

If Ange (or anyone else for that matter) gives a sad story of her Boyfriend beating her and smashing her phone, and she needs to make a very urgent call to family for help, be on high alert as she will run as soon as she gets your Cell Phone in her hand.

Luckily we had copied down the IMEI Number as well as the Make/ Model number etc of the Nokia CP and reported it to Globe to block the SIM Card, so by now the Handset will be of no use to anyone.

For anyone wanting to find their IMEI Number so that they can Block their Handset as well as the Sim Card, follow these steps on this Web Page:

How to Find the IMEI Number on a Mobile Phone: 20 steps

    Cheers, Brian.

I think your advice is confusing a couple of fixes. Unless things have changed since I did it last.

While Globe etc may be able to block the SIM, the thief only needs to buy another SIM to use the phone.

To disable the phone completely you have to go upstairs at Water District with the IMEI number to have the guy in the little office there do whatever he does in Cebu/Manila to make the entire phone inoperable.

Ever since that person in question no longer has an office @ Water District but transfer to a new place in Real St. opposite Noreco, between Scooby and a barbershop you will see an entrance that leads, by using the stairs to the 2nd floor, where's the office now of the NCA (National Communications Authority). Dont forget to bring with you the original box (with IMEI # sticker) the cellphone was packed in when you bought it in a store, to have your lost/stolen etc. cp blocked and thus of no use for any further communciations.

What I did was emailed National Telecommunications Commission
    Web Site: https://ntc.gov.ph/
    Email:ospac@ntc.gov.ph

What I did next was download the Complaint Lost Affidavit (loss phone).pdf Form from:
    Web Site:://ntc.gov.ph/publicassistance_lossstolencellphone.php

Then my Girlfriend obtained an 'Extract Copy from the Police Blotter of her original complaint to Police (which took around 5x attempts before they would take her complaint as they were too busy to take such a trivial complaint) and eventually had it signed along with the Complaint Lost Affidavit Form she printed out, which she then emailed to me...

Then I emailed them to the National Telecommunications Commission - ospac@ntc.gov.ph

Then 4 days later, the IMEI Number to the Hand Set was Blocked.

To Block the SIM Card I had to email Globe: talk@globetel.com.ph

It was a bit of a trial for us both as Cell Phone Theft seems to be low priority and took some nudging until they finally realised she was not going away until they took her report. But it is done now, I just thought someone may know/meet her and save them this drama...

Any criminal act is of low priority, unless you are a high fly citizen

Where does your girl know the name of that criminal. Or everybody knows her and where she hangs out but the police can't find

You certainly never were in the Philippines. A local girl has her cell-phone glued to her hand and would never give it to anyone !!!

The only place a cell of a chick get lost is in the PAWNSHOP.
Before you waste more money, get in touch with Pointman Cebu - Do you have questions or concerns about your Filipina being a scammer? !!!

Sorry, mate, but WAKE UP !

OOOPS, I forgot, your girl is different ...

LOL :D Gass I am sorry you have been burned and are so cynical...:p

It was her friend from High School, not a close friend, but she knew her from School & had not seen her for 5 or 6 years years, Angelou gave her a sob story about a fight she & her Boyfriend had just been in where he threw & smashed her CP & Angelou needed to contact her parents. My GF was standing beside Angelou with her 4year old Daughter after picking her up from School, as soon as the CP hit Angelou's hand she was off like an Olympic Sprinter!! Melinda had to make the decision to keep chasing Angelou or go back for her Daughter...

I DO understand your cynicism and will not challenge you as over the past 5 years I have met my fair share of Filipina Girls online & YES I have been burnt, YES I have heard pretty much it all, YES Filipina Girls ARE AMAZING when it comes to ingenuity to find new ways to bleed money out a Man who shows an ounce of compassion, but just as 99% of Men are like Dogs who only think with their 'little brain'; there ARE the 1%'rs out there also who would not screw a woman over, so it works both ways, both male & female... After two failed marriages to unfaithful Australian women my trust factor is hovering around the 1% mark...

In the past 5years I have spoken to over 500 (Filipina) Girls online, it was so bad at one stage I was online replying from early morning to the early hours of the morning!! In the beginning, I was gullible & stupidly 'helped' out a few with the "No Rice" "No Milk" "Kicked out of Home" "Medical Emergencies" etc until I began to study them & read up other's stories on their experiences. I began to watch their eyes & quickly learned they were holding a dozen or so conversations at the same time & one was so good; she even emailed me a picture of her Daughter wearing a hospital Cap with what looked like a legitimate Doctors Certificate! I was on the edge of deciding if I would help her when I mentioned I had never sent via WU before; she 'shyly' sent me a list of every WU Branch in my locale here in Ipswich, SE QLD within a minute of stating that!

But; all the way along was 'my girl' whom I spoke to daily as she managed an Internet Cafe, she never once asked me for money, she coached me on Filipina Girls, Relationships, Customs, the Culture, what to be wary of, we grew to become 'Best Friends', when my 2 year 'Online Romance' with the 'sweetest Girl ever' ended (after research led to the discovery of several online Profiles on Dating & Social Media sites) & Melinda transferred to another job & was no longer online everyday, we eventually realised how close we had become over the past years...

Still she asks for NO money & yes I have bought her (small & cheap) Birthday & Christmas gifts for her & her Daughter over the past 4 or 5 years (which adds up to less then most guys would spill in an hour at the Pub) She lives in Maluay & is what I view as an 'Old Culture' thinking girl... When her Father was hit by a Car & ended up in Hospital; (she posted pictures for me) they sold their Ice Cream Cart to pay the Bills & point blank REFUSED any offer of help which I did offer to her then, I actually felt as if I had insulted her by offering her help with her Father's Hospital Bills, so I 'think' I am safe, although there is always that 1% doubt... So I hear you loud and clear... *Treading warily*...

Sorry for the Double Post, I am on Dial-up Speed here and the page glitched...

    Yeah I assumed that Firefly...

Melinda went to the Police 3 times to submit hr Complaint & was turned away. When she downloaded & printed out the Complaint Form, she went back again & again was turned away, she went back the next day and was given a copy of the Police Blotter Report & after realising she was not going to go away & forget this, they complied, very begrudgingly...

Then we realised she had forgotten to get them to witness her signature on the Complaint Form, so she went back the next day & again was turned away! She was in tears by this stage ready to give up after being submitted to total humiliation for such a menial matter! O-|

She went back the next day again & begrudgingly an Officer witnessed her Signature and Stamped where necessary grumbling that they had better things to attend to (as they all sat around drinking Coffee chatting & laughing amongst themselves...)

The Philippines has enacted Laws to try and slow down the trade from Stolen Cell Phones, the Phone Companies have got onboard to help assist with this, the National Telecommunications Commission has got onboard, now we just need the Police to connect the dots, dot the i's and cross the t's & maybe these Laws will begin to change how things work there, why not? It works in other Countries for those who take the time to write down the imei number and store it in a safe place...
