we copyeditors earn more than 16k...thats just a starter's salary SPi can send work at home and copyeditors get paid by the number of pages edited software engineer, IT specialist earn less idea from a copyeditor
I worked as Typesetter at SPI Global for 4 years, salary is minimum wage for the position. The Software engineer position will definitely be much more. Im sorry i cannot disclose how many months you have to work in the company after you sign the contract, i think its better to read it first and then decide. Its been 2 years since i resigned and now im training as CSR at Qualfon. Nothing wrong if you call them and ask how much is the salary for the position... i would definitely ask first if i were you. Goodluck
I think these companies have standardized their rates here. I don't know why they pay lower just because we are in Duma and not in Cebu or Manila.
Because Dumaguete is a University Town and there are no jobs, so they can pay what ever they like for good employee's.. When 200 people apply for 5 positions and all have the qualifications its pretty easy to pay small..
It will reverse soon, (hopefully). As you might have notice, more and more companies are investing in dgte which means they will have competitions in getting good employees, which would cause to them to do something about it (e.g. better salary/incentives) so that the talented ones would line up at their doorstep.
I don't like to disagree but i think the reverse is true,, competition in the Philippines usually lowers prices until they all get together and raise rates together, but the employee's don't see it ever.. just think of the little gas station cartel in Dumaguete,, all competition and all got together and maintained a gasoline price for good profitability,, but the employee's certainly never saw the profits.. in their compensation..
Sorry forget to mention, I was just referring to the bpo companies within dumaguete city. In this industry, employees just come and go.
