When walking across the highway, sober or drunk, take your sweet @ss time, not need to rush, no need to walk straight across, okay to light up a smoke or text.

I thought it is going to the middle of the road, while texting, spitting to the right, making a 30 degree turn to the left that you can not see the coming traffic and continue walking about 1.5 meters inside the lane instead of using walkway. Then turn left again to face the middle of the lane and do the same without any reason the other way to end up where you started...

I swear that many of these people crossing the highway are trying to get hit hoping if they survive that they will get a lot of money from whoever hit them!

People are just clueless it seems or have a death wish. So tempting at times to actually just run them over if it was only a 500p fine... I'd carry a wad of 500p bills with me wherever I go then!

Of course, if it was a local or any national that hit them, They would just look around for the nearest Foreigner in a car or on a Bike to blame..:D

Pat, you forgot .... in the dark! I just figure, for many, a road is just a clearing in the jungle. Good place to dry rice, corn, copras; to sit and drink Tanduay at night; have a little nap or a long conversation; tie up your cow or goat; leave the garbage; or erect a cross with a pile of stones in the middle of the road to highlight a death in the family from a road accident (the ultimate irony, but I have seen it on a curve of the National Highway on the way to Cebu!)
