    Good Day,
I have been looking for information and i have written to 3 companys via email- (cebu pacific cargo, Montenegro Shipping Lines and 2GO freight,

I will be bringing my 2 dogs down to Dumaguete early next year, the only problem is how on earth do i get them there?

I was intending to drive my car down with them in it via roro's

Out of the 3 companys i sent numerous emails to the only one to have even bothered to reply to me was 2GO freight, but they informed me that i could not have my dogs in the car taking them over on RORO?, I find this very odd as i read up the RO RO rules and it is supposed to be as land so i should be able to take my dogs in my car if i wish as anywhere else in philippines so why not across on a ferry? if there was a bridge in other words i would have no problem,

so now as usual when you want to get anything done you have to go to great lengths to get a simple (anywhere else) task done, or just PAY over the odds to do it,

So without getting into to much of a rant and to try to stay on my original subject does anyone know how i can transport my dogs down to dumagutete, I would much prefer to bring them on the drive with me as it would be the simplest and most cost effective way,
    any advice most welcomed!

3years ago I brought my bullmastiff from cebu to dumaguete by George and Peter boat, we put her on a wooden cage and brought her to the quarantine office near the pier to get a permit to travel as per Port rules, they also ask the medical records. We transport her with the multi cab/ easy ride car, but during the travel the area where car parks was too noisy and too hot for any animals! so, my husband asked the ship captain to have our dog sleep in better a ventilation otherwise it will die. And we succeed.
You can also inquire the Ocean Jet, I saw a dog with cage of course...being transported, they put them near the luggages. another option is to travel by car via Liloan by Uymatiao Ferry. You can inquire for more info and the trip schedule.

    quarantine papers are important

A little over a year ago, I did the same thing, bring my cats by Cebu Pacific from Manila to Cebu, then putting them on the boat. The traveling papers were required, which I had from my trip from the USA with the cats. I did have to go the local quarantine offices and wake them up to get my paper work done. The cats were put down by the Engine room on the boat, with noisy engine, and hoards of chickens also. They survived this new life experience and arrived in Dumaguete about 6 AM. It is important to have your paper work complete for the quarantine offices.

    thanks

I thank you both for your reply's,
i should add i will be coming a long way, from Manila, i have to bring my car so it would be ideal to have the dogs with me, where would i get the papers for travel quarantine?

i find it a little hard to understand why you need papers for your pets to travel in country domesticaly, probably just another confusion of the Philippines, as i dont need one in the UK to take my pets anywhere in the same country, in fact i have friend from Belgium who regularly drives his car with his dog inside over to France and never has any problem,

I was replyed from roro 2GO and they said animals are not allowed to be in car when travelling on there ferries, i see the route that has the shortest ferry times as my best option but may have to put the dogs in a cage and send via manila airport, this is a major inconvenece , and considering that the only airline i have found that offerers the service (cebu pathetic) dont reply to any of their emails it makes it so much harder.....

Hey dave was it not possible for you to send your cats straight to dumagutete from manila? rather then via cebu and the extra ferry ride?

I hope there is a way!

    cheers

Hmmm... The best, easiest and hassle free is to take your dogs by Land travel and short ferry transfer. A friend came by pick up with loads of stuff, and she said it was much more easier and cheaper to travel all the way from Manila to Dumaguete. No more paper works and no dealings with pathetic fella. I will ask her first if its fine with her to have you both communicate via Skype.
