Congratulations on the visa! You are definitely going to like Perth. Tiger Airways moved to Terminal 2 at Changi in late September...I was in Singapore, and flying back and forth on Tiger, when they did the move from that terrible Budget Terminal. T2 is much much better! Ok, here's my tip for the duty-free on the plane coming to Perth. Tiger is flogging a litre of excellent vodka for about $18 Australian ($22 SGD)....Excellent value. Enjoy Perth....So far a very pleasant start to summer...
Thank you Garbanzo. Have you tried staying at the T3? they have private sleeping area but when i googled there are no available pictures. Would love to try the vodka, i am more of a beer drinker, told my fiancee to stock up on guinness hahaha but a little vodka will be much appreciated. I want to ask for the brand of the excellent vodka you are telling me about? Perth is really lovely specially because my fiancee's apartment is near Swan River. I am looking forward to join a billiards women's group and play billiards every saturday wow that would be great May i ask where you live in Oz? caus if you are near the Barrier reef, can we come and visit? lol
All three terminals have transit hotels inside. We've only stayed in one once....and it was fine. Clean and quiet, price was reasonable at the time - considering the location....no windows in ours...and I assume no windows in any of them. But frankly, Changi is such a great airport we don't feel the need to rest up much. Plenty of places to eat, drink, shop, relax and - if needed - catch a bit of sleep on the terminal lounges.....Our favourite airport by far. Love Singapore too... For the Vodka: Tiger Airways Pre-Order Duty Free They sell it directly on the plane for the same price...$22 SGD or an equivalent in foreign currency. They are very good about using real exchange rates...unlike some other airlines who do a bit of profiteering to their advantage. I like Tiger...not the most comfortable...but the flights are usually enjoyable and the price is right... We actually live out near Joondalup so we know Perth very well. Been here for almost thirty years minus a decade of contracts in the Middle East. We're pretty happy here....beautiful place...
Singapore is the hub for Tiger air and Jetstar. Even if you go to Manila to fly to Perth you will still end up stopping in Singapore. That is why many Aussies I know choose to go direct from Cebu to Singapore and save the trip up to Manila.
Thank you for the info Garbanzo, i dont feel bad about spending 12 hours in the T3 lounge area anymore, did you say there are shopping areas there also? lol will buy the vodka and give that as a christmas gift to my FI. Im really sorry but you did mentioned before that you are living in Joondalup, i forgot about that. If in the future you want to meet with us, please let us know, i am just waiting for an invitation lol will bring vodka My FI used to live in Joondalup but moved to Perth to be near his work. 30 years wow! if you say Perth is a wonderful place then it probably is
Hi Anna...are you arriving at T3? My understanding is that T2 covers all Tiger's arrivals and departures. Note there is an excellent train service (free) between terminals...every couple minutes. They do it right in Singapore. Yes, if you get really really bored...LOL...fat chance - it's Perth....send me a PM and you and yours are very welcome....Be aware though Linda and I are both low 60's...but look and feel a lot younger - I'm sure due to Linda's healthy cooking and our relaxed lifestyle...We'll try not to bore you with veggie gardening...LOL...I like Scots too...worked up north at Dampier years ago briefly with a crew of Frenchmen and Scots on a pipeline for Woodside...When I got there the Scots may have well spoke Martian....but after a while I figured out their accent and we could communicate...LOL..We had a really good time, all of us....The French were a great crew and we always had good food and drinks at the hotel. Yes, give a yell if you like...be glad to meet you both...And welcome to the best place on the planet...
Honestly Garbanzo, i dont know where in Singapore i will arrive but FI said i will stay at T3 after i arrive. I am still working and will resign in a couple of days and then i will be free to check out what my FI booked for me lol I just trust his judgement so much i let him do it for me. I love veggie gardening but my phobia for earthworms prevented me from doing it :D its me that is concerned with boring you and Linda since i am not well travelled and i dont know Oz that much :o FI wants to live a healthy lifestyle when im there so will be asking tips from you both You will like my FI then, he has a very sexy Scots accent lol i always ask him to say 'They may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!' just like how Mel Gibson say it in Braveheart movie hahaha! Im sorry i dont know anything about pipeline or where Woodside is but my FI will know that, he is a business analyst and he lived in Joondalup for years so plenty to talk about. Will give a yell when we come to visit, i watched Lonely planet-Perth edition and it is very beautiful one of the best places
Congratulations Anna, i hope your life in Australia is a nice experience for you, just remember we are a strange mob here down under..can i ask if the visa you applied for is a tourist or finacee visa, i'm interested in the process and cost of the visa application if possible, my partner in Dumaguete has many different stories about the application process, it would be nice to get your thoughts on the process first hand. Have a nice day
Thank you. We applied for Fiancee Visa. My fiancee contacted a migration agent in Perth and the agent gave me the requirements needed for the visa. After we lodged the application, it only took 3 months before it was approved. It was a surprise since we read that processing time is 6-9months after visa is lodged. About the cost, I think its better if you find a migration agent there and talk it over with him. If you want our migration agent, i can give you his number and address, he is in Perth
