So I was planning on making chicken tortillas because I saw Robinson Market had refried beans and salsa in stock so yesterday I went back and asked first a girl working the vegetable area if the market had flour tortillas. She didn't know what I was talking about so using hand gestures and such she finally got it and pointed be to cauliflower; not quite what I had in mind. So I picked up the salsa and refried beans and at the cashier I asked that girl if the store had flour tortillas. It took a while but she finally told me I had to go to a flower store. Then on the way out I stopped at the Customer Service counter. Three girls were there as I tried to explain what I was asking for. After some time all three just smiled and shook their heads and indicated they had no idea what I was asking for. No problem, the refried beans with salsa and cheese on top made for a nice side dish for the barbecue chicken.
Note: I told my wife what happened and she had no idea what a flour tortilla was, even though she had a chicken burrito at Mike's Beach Resort.

You will find them in the frozen food area..usually 2 kinds and 2 sizes. If you cant get them (no stock) use lumpia wrappers...Miguel

Lee Plaza has them, but very small and no flavor, that is why I make them at home. I know an American baker that makes a lot of good stuff, he now makes Tortillas but I haven't tried them yet.

"an American baker that makes a lot of good stuff", in Dumaguete you mean...?
If so, do tell location, etc. Does he produce any whole-grain no-sugar breads?

I think you might be able to get the ground corn at the store. I have not looked. If you can then just need to grind it finer to make the masa harina.

It is my understanding that Masa Harina is treated with lime and regular ground corn won't work, but I haven't tried it.
