Before I post the pictures, I just copy Broadsides short write-up...

Tonight, we left Casablanca restaurant on the boulevard in Dumaguete, and went to the Provincial hospital. At 6.30 pm our time, we started to go through the childrens wards and hand out the Christmas gifts that we had acquired for the kids who will be in this hospital over Christmas.

Most of these kids have never known a proper Christmas, and some will never know another one. It took two months to organise and just one hour to make it happen. Just absolutely fantastic.

Our very own Santa summed it up when he held a little girls hand, and she was wild eyed and almost speechless, but managed to say that she now believed in Santa Claus because she could really see him. The magic of Christmas was, at that moment, given to a very poor child who now could go to sleep dreaming that there really were nice people in the world - and we made that happen for 150 children, from families so poor that they don't have two pesos to rub together.

Dr. Mike, who stepped in at very short notice to be Santa, did a fantastic job, because without him the magic would not be there. A lot of mums, still exhausted with new babies, were given the essential supplies that they could not normally get but that we in the West would take for granted.

If any of you could have seen the excitement of children, from the most deprived sections of the community, looking amazed as the packets were opened with wonderment and excitement, you could not fail to be moved.

We've had a good day - I hope yours was just as rewarding as ours.

Thanks Rodger, nothing to add to that ...

Our very special friend Cherry brought again her friends from Valencia with her to share some of their little time to help us.

Then the whole crowd got arrested...

actually, our lovely ladies convinced the PNP to drive Santa and his helper to the Provincial Hospital.

A very special and big Thank You to Tanne Fortich and Angelo Salvador from the PNP.

    Merry Christmas one and all!

it feels good to be of service especially since the kids at NOPH really needs to believe in something... the real meaning of Christmas was displayed right there by the Thursday group and all those who helped in any way... This has become a tradition  may we be all given blessings of love, health, and financial freedom to be able to do this again next year...

I loved being part of last year's, and regret not being able to participate this time -- still 'stuck' way up north. Next year i'll be there for sure, and will play Santa -- i have a better physique for that than you guyz ;-)
