Thanks Jack ..... knew I'd find a friendly face around here ... LOL .... you know the only thing I worry about is where are they gonna find helmets to fit those little guys they pack on the backs of those bikes ..... I don't know that they make them that small and an ill fitting helmet is like wearing no helmet at all ... especially on a child ..... oh well my biking days are over especially here ..... now I just have to worry about getting my legs crushed if I can find a multicab ..... see ... ya can't win ..... LOL
Since 'Pablo' ' there is still no electricity in the Tandayag area (Near Amlan)....Trying ot send a email to relatives is fruitless as cellphone sign al are not too good over that area also. Does anyone have an update in regards to the helmet law over there at Present? Is anything in effect or has it been delayed for another 6 months or So? Thanks for the update! (if Any)
I just passed by DTI. Happened to have my unapproved helmet on. So, I stopped. Went inside and was out again in less than 5min with sticker on helmet. They just saw the DOT approved sticker and didn't even check in any lists. Helmet laws are really stupid. You hurt no one but yourself by not wearing any. Should be a matter of personal preferences. If you got something to protect you wear a helmet. If not, there is no need. But, we have them in Europe, we have them in the states. So, not a big deal. I wear my helmet always anyway. If not for other reasons, a full face helmet protects agains this sticky diesel soot as well.
My wife heard on the local news yak yak radio program yesterday that the helmet law will indeed begin Jan. 1. They did not mention anything regading a dress code regulation. Personally, I really don't care, it will force me to wear one. Better than the steel jarhead shaped one I was was forced to wear before..
There is already a dress code law. They issued a ticket to a foreigner for wearing open toed shoes and shorts about 2 months ago at a checkpoint. Think it cost him 1200php. Of course they weren't issuing it to filipinos at the same checkpoint.
Do you know what Republic Act number that one back rider law is under ? I can't seem to find it. Thanks.
