Today between Bacong and Dumaguete, about 15 % drivers wear helmet, a little bit more near the city. No check points. Also seen one driver with helmet while wife and 3 children below 5 without any protection on the same motor.
Our barangay captain rode by me this morning wearing a baseball cap. I hollered to him, "hey captain, where's your helmet?" He laughted and padded his cap. I look forward to driving my car to Silliman Hospital today and observe how much enforcement and helmets I see on the highway through town.
I agree with PatO, I saw more baseball caps than helmets between Sibulan port and Dumaguete proper. I did not notice any increase in the number of people with helmets. Wondering if you need them for tricycles? I could add a sidecar to my XRM125 and help the tricycles for hire block traffic.
I stood at lee plaza out of 106 bikes 34 riders had helmets 52 without 20 of the riders had one but not their passengers . I dont understand why they make laws that they dont intend to enforcing this must be the wrong message to send to people cheers
It just shows that the LTO and other Authorities have no Backbone when it comes to facing the Public, this makes the Philippines again look like a Third World Country and not an Developing one...
According to the radio the helmet law was not going to even start being enforced until today so as to give people time to buy helmets.I guess they didn't know about the helmet law ? Hmmm. Odd. How about only one passenger, how's that working out.
i dont think it's gonna push through here in dumaguete... but it's good if it pushes through though. go or no go, its a win win siutuation for the people eh? :D
