    of course, there is always someone else (anonymous) ... I recall you talking about the electricians who build SM after rebuilding Robinsons.

    just check your sources more thoroughly, Richard, your permanent resident table at Mcd isn't reliable, they suffered from agent orange attacks and other bad stuff ...

    I hereby apologize if some member of the permanent residents and the foreign ambassador of MCD feels offended...

    According to an article I read regarding 7/11, the next planned cities are Bohol, Iloilo and Bacolod;

    7-Eleven targets 30 outlets in Cebu by yearend Cebu Business Guide | Cebu Business Guide

    7 eleven is now the world's largest franchiser, owned by the same Japanese company that owns Sogo.

    We often eat at Subway in Manila when we are there, and ate at the one in Ayala Cebu years ago too. The ones in Manila are great, the one in Cebu was rather second rate.

    Just as a matter of interest,( I am not too keen on Mc Do's, so i don't frequent either) are the 2 operated by the same franchisee? or are they in competition?

    I ate at the subway in Olongapo a year ago. It was ok, but that's generally my opinion of the franchise everywhere I've tried it (US included). But for the large part, it certainly did beat the local crap made here.

    I also recently watched a "Modern Marvels" (or one of those Discovery Channel shows) episode about Mcdonalds and they do indeed ship all their product from one warehouse in the US to every country in the world, even mentioned Philippines specifically. Now I'm not saying the cows didn't get fed feed from china in Mexico, butchered in Haiti, meat shipped to China for processing and then shipped to the US warehouse, but hey, the warehouse is in the US.

    The hamburger rolls and English muffins are definitely local at McDo's reminds me of some of my experiments making bread when I was a teenager working at a pizza joint, only my results weren't so dry and flavorless. Apparently if you pay your franchise fee, the rest is left to the lowest bidder.

    Well, if I was shipped half way around the world, frozen and thawed a few dozen times over a period of a few months, I might be dry and flavorless too. Luckily I wasn't, so I am fresh and tasty!

    :wink:
