My wife and I will be visiting family and friends in the Dumaguete area in mid February for about three weeks.
Could someone please recommend a place(s) in Dumaguete where we can rent a motorcycle (Honda Dream size or similar) for about three weeks.

    Many thanks!
    Bubba

Also in dumaguette a block from abdulia business inn, and near the robinsons mall are places to rent a variety of motorcycles.

take the second store motorcycle for rent from the crossing near ok pensione house. they charge you less than the first one. second they will take advantage of you if you dont know the price. i rent myself and i was fooled by it. they could even give you a a discount for renting longer days. fyi.

Dumaguete now has probably the cheapest motorbike hire you will find anywhere in the Philippines and is still possible to rent one for 250 a day from an established motorbike hire shop with a fleet of bikes (you might find cheaper than that, but only if you hire more informally from an individual Filipino, like your girl's cousin or something). I have my own bike and didn't need to hire one myself, but driving past KoKoi's bikes recently, 09066597942 near the boulevard I spoke to the guy for a few minutes, they have bikes for 250, they will allow you to take the bike to a different island if you want, are happy with just as photocopy of your passport as security and will go down on price even for a week, never mind a month if you pay in advance. I bet you could get one for 6,000 or even 5,000 per month if you pay up front. But I didn't examine the bikes very closely though, like I would have done if I was seriously thinking of hiring one myself. The ones lined up outside all looked as if they'd been well used, however that doesn't mean they wouldn't be up to being used as a run around or for more local trips within 100km or so. I wouldn't necessarily expect to get a new bike capable of doing longer tours, in really good nick for 250, if they had a new one I would perhaps pay maybe 50 pesos a day more in Dumaguete. Overall if you are looking to hire a bike, there is probably nowhere better to do this than Dumaguete.

Thank you for your reply! It is thoughtful of you to take the time to write a lengthy reply. For sure, I will check out KoKoi's business. My wife and I generally stay within, say, 50 kms of Dumaguete. Paying a little more for a new(er) bike is definitely of interest to me.
    Thank you again!
    Bubba

Take note that all the places mentioned are within 150 feet of each other, it will save you time trying to track them all down from the different directions/landmarks given!

you must always make sure the bike is registered and you must always carry a license, otherwise if you get stopped at a roadblock they might want to not just fine you but confiscate the bike, while they are probably more likely to do this to a foreigner they do it to Filipinos too. You would have been in a right pickle if you had been stopped at a block miles from any town like I was in Cebu once, without a license. I had no choice but to pay a fine, quite a steep one as well because they made it clear they wanted to confiscate the bike. I didn't have a leg to stand on either as I knew it was my fault as I was obliged to have my license with me at all times.
