Could anyone kindly help me with names of good elementary schools in Dumaguete? Silliman is out of option also Royal oaks as they are accelerated(grade one students study grade 2 books). I am looking for one where they would not be very strict with the child not knowing Tagalog or Bisaya because my kid is still in his way of learning proper English. I also went to ABC but was surprised with all the noise going around because of no proper walls but only dividers between classes. I really am looking for a school that would emphasize proper English as the base of their curriculum. thanks a lot for any help in this matter.

You can also try PTC { Presbyterian Theological College }.It's located in upper Cantil-e near Banilad. To get there You take the same road that goes to Santa Monica Beach Resort, but in the opposite direction going up towards the Mountains. it's somewhere between 3-5 KM from the highway. Both of My Daughters go there and the curriculam is taught in English. It's owned by Koreans, half the school is Korean and the other half is Filipino along with a small mixture of Mestiso and Mestisa Kids like My own. I think this is one of the Schools that the Koreans attend when They first arrive in Duma from Korea, and once Their English skills become more fluent They move on to other schools like Silliman. So far I'm very pleased with it, but like Don Bosco it does cost a little money, although a little cheaper than Don Bosco....

Simon is under new ownership, a local family with children that refuse to attend any other school has purchased it. They are busy getting the new site ready, still needs a bit of work. We're told that a school van will be available for transportation.

We also have a student there, formerly at Silliman who visited Simon and wouldn't go back. Silliman Basic Education expects you to tutor your child in addition to the classroom, Simon has no traditional homework. The tuition is about the same.

Thank you for your reply. In regards to SIMON, I visited the school and it looks ok. I am mainly concern their education. Can anyone tell me if their children develop Advanced Studies as what they say?

If interested and depending on the age of your child, you can check out One International School in Dauin, a private England system school. Unless of course Simon is not your school...

Not sure of the question, but ready students can be advanced to a higher grade there.

Our kids go to SIMON. Seems to be an ok school. Very flexible and not so strict. As we go to Sweden every summer it's important to us that the kids can do some private tutoring before we leave and attend class in August when we come back. Other schools will not allow that.

Minime , you might want to take a look at Lifegiver Christian Academy on the main road between Dumaguete and Valencia , All subjects are taught in English . Tuition is very favorable.
