    Read more carefully. The figure refers to the number of rooms occupied by foreigners, not the total occupancy. Come to think of it, the greatest number of visitors would likely be "internal tourists", filipinos from other provinces.

    Yes, a big percentage is. And there is another problem to report it. How do one know if a Filipino walking in is local, or someone who emigrated who is visiting? A big number of Filipino customers are visitors from abroad, who like to show of how rich they have become abroad and spend all their saving in a week.

    It could be that a great number of these tourists are Filipinos also. If you are a local, you can differentiate it immediately. But if you are a foreigner then probably you can not know them exactly.
    It is not in our interest on how they spend their money or how they will get it. But i am sure that most of the business in Dumaguete benefit from their spending. As a local i want to also support these businesses because by buying from them they give also employment to other people.
