I know this is extremely last minute but I'm going on a ride to Manila tomorrow. Anyone who wants to join, and has a bike big enough to keep up (400cc and up), is more than welcome. Just know that I don't wait on anyone, so if you fall behind you will stay behind until I stop for a smoke or beer. I generally stop every 50-75km for a smoke. I'm planning on getting to Iloilo tomorrow afternoon. Staying one night or two in Iloilo then heading up to Mindoro from there. Will stay one night or two in Puerto Gallero. Head over to Batangas from there and ride through Manila to Angeles for a couple days then to Olongapo for a couple days. I'm in no hurry and on no set schedule. I don't know my return trip yet, I might go down through bicol/samar/leyte/cebu. I do have one question. What is the port to get from Panay Island to Mindoro Island? Is it Caticlan?
The most up to date figures and times I have are from 2011 but they may still be relevant apart from the cost. Crossing is from Caticlan (Panay) to Roxas (Oriental Mindoro) with Montenegro lines. Departures are 5 times a day between 0400 and 2200. Crossing takes about 3 hours ish. The cost in 2011 for the bike was 1472 peso. Hope this helps.
That's what I was thinking. Not too concerned with the price. Just location. Good info, thanks. My gf pissed me off yesterday so I'm heading out for awhile. Making sure she understands bullshit can go both ways.
If you go up the east coast its a nice ride but will take about 2 hours longer than up the middle,, if you go up the west coast thru Antique its about and hour longer than going up the middle..
