Maybe the following will save others from running around like I did to get my bike registration and tags renewed for the year.
    1. Bring your OR and CR with you.
    2. Have your Insurance updated for the coming year. My Yamaha Mio 125 cost 425p.
    3. You have to get a Smog Check Certificate before applying for renewal. I went across the hiway from Tangs. Cost 350p. Note: I went about 11AM, I was number 112, they were on number 82. They can do two at a time. I left and went to lunch and returned about 1:30 and was next in line - many people in line leave and don't return.
    4. Having your smog certificate and insurance doc you can now go to the LTO. Go to the Registration window and get the paperwork you need then go out back and have your bike inspected. They check you can start it up, lights, turn signals, and horn. Take the paperwork back to Registration for evaluation. This is where I struck out because even though my registration has a March 20 expiry date, I cannot renew until May because my plate number has a May number, so I will return and see what rework, if any, of the paperwork I have to do. More fun here.....

Pat, you should have talked to me. I bring all my vehicles to the Smoke Test Center across from Cangs. I give my "Soki" my OR and CR and the keys to the scooter or car and I go for a coffee upstairs in Cangs. I come down later (time to have him do the smoke test) and give him the money. He looks after everything. A couple days later, he texts me with my new stickers and OR and insurance!!! Only costs a few pesos more than doing it myself with NO hassle except a second trip to Cangs!

The best way to determine when you can pay for your registration is to ask the LTO at the check poinnt.

Thanks for this specific facts about the plate numbers. My last number on the plate is for June expiration ( 6 ) but I have paid fees until August. So I get to go in early. My Official receipt shows the amount paid, but no expiration date (again more fun in the Philippines). The real way you can determine how far you are paid is to divide the amount paid by 20 P for the number of months. When I purchased my motorcycle in December, 2011 they decided to have me pay 420 P so my license was good until September, but they did not have any September plates ( 9 ) so they gave me a June plate ( 6 ). It has made the LTO check fun at first as the less informed told me I had expired plates be cause my sticker was 2011 (the year of sticker issued, NOT the year of of expiration). I got to know the head guy very well and he usually just waved me through, even though I tried to bet the underlings a year's pay that I was not expired when given a chance. One uniformed lady was going to try to impound my bike because it had "expired" plate... that is when I went to the top LTO man on at the check point involved. Once I notice the fellow that was checking had a parks department sticker on his official jacket. I have since given them my immigration card accidentally one time and even been wave through. Being infamous with the LTO works sometimes.

By the way it took me about till April to get my plate and sticker from the dealer because they never seemed to be able to find it. Finally after telling them I was going to McD's the next week and going on line and telling everyone that they could not produce a sticker, they found it in one day. It has been about six consecutive weeks of "next week" prior to that threat. The whole system is a joke in many ways.

I think you forgot to mention to have at least 20 copies of your OR/CR, drivers license, birth birth certificate, passport, original entry visa, marriage certificate, plane ticket in and out of country and a photo id of your first born. Lol

We do the same all the time. I usually talk to Johnson, he is a good guy, he looks after everything and texts when all done. He knows us already so I always talk to him. I always give him something after for merienda, not a whole lot, hehehe but not required:smile:. We also have them do the liability insurance.

Wander around, do other stuff or have lunch then come back, smoke test done then pay. Hassle free.

    Best regards,

    Yolly
