Seems like since Jan. 1 a few newbies have signed on to the forum with the intent to critique some of the respected members of this forum (not talking about me). I noticed they are not Americans but quick to criticize Americans, no problem, we give and we take. But unless they can add value when they post, let's kick their @ss off.

Why don't you name man & horse so other members can keep track on bullish talking. I for myself also don't read all new posts but to keep this info board a happy board for me never a bridge too far.

Hey PatO, it seems that Americans are permitted to criticise all other Nationalities here, but themselves ?

And, no-one is permitted to criticises them ?

Do you Americans own this Forum, or just want to dominate it ?

Or, are you just enjoying puffing up your feathers and stamping your important influence here ?

You can be outspoken, but not others, is that the go ?

I for one am not racist against any other nationality, race, creed colour, religion etc.,

    BUT, speaking only for myself,

I am totally bigoted against people who are continually negative about other nationalities, particularly toward the Filipinos.

It seems that you may have a problem with criticism against America, well get over it mate, and stop being so sensitive.

I have only spoken up against people here who are continually negative toward Filipinos, I find it totally objectionable, and if all those people are Americans, well, what else can I say ?

You are quite welcome, and I encourage it, to make any and all criticisms against Australia and Australians, and, as my Country and myself are not yet quite perfect, you may be very surprised that I could agree with many of the things you say.

Maybe you should lighten up, and take things in more good humour.:D

    Peace.

    Steve,

I hope that you see the humor of your post, as you have both substantiated Pat's post and replied to RR biker. Myself I have no criticisms against Australians. Especially your home town of Adelaide. I spent a month there a couple of years ago. What's not to love about a city bracketed by two superb wine regions. Of course Fringe Fest is a bit hard to describe. Fair Dinkum!

Hey Last Call, - wow - "fair dinkum", you speak Australian, excellent, well done mate.

Yes Adelaide and Perth are my favourite Cities, small, but with all creature comforts, no pollution or traffic jams.

The Wine districts down from Perth are also very, very nice if you ever get there.

I have been to the States, but not SD unfortunately, but have heard many good things about it.

I believe Oz's Seaworld on the Gold Coast is modelled after SD's.

I did check out the Nappa Valley wineries, and they are also very good.

Wish I could make "No comment"

I tried not making a comment, just leaving the quote, but the forum said my response was not long enough.

So here is my comment: I son lives in Lake Tahoe, California, USA, my daughter lives in Hunter Valley, Australia (outside Sydney) and I am in a relationship with a Filipina and live in the Philippines. So it would be hard for me to be negative or favor or accuse or defend one nationality, age group, race, creed< color, religion without considering myself racist, or nationalist.

In my opinion a defense is just the same as an accusation, just a different perspective. Once profiling or name calling starts here, the true purpose of the forum is compromised.

This forum is made up of opinions, and not all are the same. However we are all probably have at least one thing in common. We are foreigners here trying to understand and peaceably blend into the culture we are not totally familiar with, so I would it be nice if we could be courteous to each other in our posts, losing the abrupt responses when someone does not agree with us. We should all have probably sharing one goal here, so let's share our experiences in achieving that goal.

Dave and Imp. Thanks for the Fancy Feast cat food which arrived via PatO. Stray boy Phoenix thought all his birthdays had come at once.

(From a Brit to a Yank for the benefit of a Filipino moggy) :p

I love Australia, the lifestyle, the weather, the beaches, and the wines. Although I never made it to Adelaide or Perth or to the Margaret River wine region, I lived in Sydney and worked in Melbourne for two+ years and had several meetings up at the Gold Coast - a place similar to southern California. Taking the ferry from Sydney harbor up to Manly for Sunday brunch was a real treat, and while working in Melbourne, has several dinners at Jimmy's World Famous Greek restaurant. Joining the Aussies for Friday beers at Darling Harbor was lots of fun.
You can find some average Aussie wines at the Times store on Hibbard.
    Peace.

Yes, most International Visitors only make it to either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. Actually the wines from Margaret River are just as good as the South Australian wines, and in fact, IMHO, some are even better, and that is coming from a South Australian, lol ..........don't tell them, or they will deport me..........

Fancy Feats... the cats addictive drug...

I am glad to help the Kids at school, and spoil Stray boy Phoenix. See we can all work together, not only the different cultures but the different species too.

You will not be thanking me when "Stray boy Phoenix" refuses all other types of cat food and your cat food budget soars so bad you are eating roots yourself... hahaha.... Fancy Feast to cats is as drugs is to humans... very addictive... and expensive. (BTW: Fancy feast is P 39.5 at Robinsons, P 34.5 at Hypermart/Lee Plaza and P 30 at S & R in Cebu), Imp, Uggy, Alice and Alex consume up to 4 cans a day plus dry food.
