Remember Taxi Driver, One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest, Godfather Series, French Connection, Midnight Cowboy, Deer Hunter, Fatal Attraction, Goodfellas, Apocolypse Now, Pulp Fiction, etc. etc. For me, the only real good movie the last ten years has been Departed. Sorry, Brokeback Mountain and Life of Pi not my cup of tea.
Not sure of the time frame, but what about - "The Hunt for Red October" ? "Entrapment" ? "The Thomas Crown Affair" ? - with Brosnan "James Bond " ? with Craig. "Taken"
or maybe I am too old to remember. I am not sure I remember those... I think they were before my "time" or maybe I am too old to remember. I do remember "Flashback" with Keifer Sutherland and Dennis Hopper of 1990. FUNNY MOVIE WITH A FEW FUNNY TWISTS. MUST SEE FOR ANY KEIFER SUTHERLAND OR DENNIS HOPPER FAN. DESERVED A BETTER RATING. ENJOY! Would be interested in knowing where some of the old favorite movies may be available here in the Philippines. Flashback has been on TV in the last couple of years.
One of my favorites was Juggernaut from 1974 with Richard Harris. Jaws was good then, a bit dated and overshown now. Alien. In the last decade or so Resident Evil has probably been most memorable.
The times they are a changin. very few truly classic movies are made anymore because everyone is chasing the fast cash, technology trends etc. occassionally i see older movies that were shot in technicolor, still so beautiful and some great movies made back then. modern trends, staying up to date on what is occuring in what liberals view is now and is reality is another part of the problem.
Just replace all dialog with some awesome computer generated special effects and you have a hit these days. Has anyone watched the movie Idiocracy? Pretty much sums up where western culture is headed to.
However, when the main character goes to through the court system it pretty much mimics the Philippine judicial system. Lol have to go watch that again.
