I honestly don't know what the media reported on the ship sinking. Was not so concerned about the incident, so didn't follow up on the story. Sure governments influence, and sometimes even write, the media. But if you aren't smart enough to watch more than one news channel /check the internet and pick out the facts from the speculation/bullshit then I guess it'd be best to get back to your soap operas or professional wrestling. Are you implying there is a better way to get news than from the news? I personally can't afford to hire enough people to watch all the world events at the same time. Then I certainly don't have the time to give shits for every preventable death that happened that given day. Sorry if I seemed a bit unconcerned about the deaths but I've had plenty of people I actually CARED about die.
I can't believe that any sane individual would make such a statement. Oh well, it takes all kinds I guess.:(
Well, CNN was one, I wonder what Country they are in ? I am so glad that more people do not have the same cavalier approach to life as some do by reading some of the statements here. That could explain some of the riding styles on the roads perhaps ?
There is a British and US CNN. The one seen here in the Philippines British version for most of their programs. CNN seems to be one of the more "balanced" news channels. Contrary to what my government thinks, I believe Al Jazeera is fairly neutral, although they concentrate largely on the middle east, understandably so. Much more "fair and balanced" than fox news and certainly not the BS the Iranian Press TV spews out (which was taken off of my cable channels a couple months ago and replaced with the Chinese movie channel). I am cavalier about the world as I have actually served in 2 wars, I have lost friends to the will of old men sitting behind their desks on on the capital hill and the population that votes for them (let's not forget who votes for these people, they don't do much of anything without wide popular support). The human race has been at war since, well.......the beginning of recorded history, and the large majority of those wars were started over petty disagreements that could have be solved peacefully. No amount of complaining or feeling sorry for the death of civilians will change the fact that war is a part of human nature. I doubt driving habits have much to do with my personal opinion on the world. The world is what it is. People die, millions by the day.....to give shits about everyone of them is a waste of time and, frankly, impossible. I won't be the one that let's the media tell me which lives I should give shits about. Honestly, if it weren't for the media telling you who to give shits about you likely wouldn't give shits outside of your home city, family/friends circle or stomping grounds such as Dumaguete. While it's sad, I simply don't have the time to care for everyone mistreated in the world.
What do you guys think a war in the Korean peninsula would do to korean immigration to the philippines?
The similar media message regarding North Koreas warnings and threats were broadcast by CNN-USA, CNN-Hong Kong, the BBC, ABC Australia, and, I am told Philippine News channels. Obviously more than that, but they are the ones I have seen.
Well, based on the full content of this message you just related, it is obvious that reading anything further from you, would be a pointless exercise. And, aren't you the sensitive lilttle dear who pleaded for people to stop personal attacks against you ? And yet you can dish it out whenever you wish, typical arrogance
