No gun law changes in the USA now, the proposals failed to get approval by Congress, so what next ? - 2 Prosecutors in Texas shot and killed, of course, what else can we expect ?
ha ha ha , good one pato, exactly, .............. lol .......... They will be stuffed without being able to buy guns and ammo
You are right Georgia was used as a penal colony, but only for a short time. but a lot of other early settlers had were indentured servents often times little better than slaves. LIfe was not easy in 16th century colonies.
Hey roadking, not sure about British convicts being shipped to America, but, I believe the first long term European settlers in North America were religious groups from England, called Pilgrims. Are you referring to them perhaps ?.................. lol ......................
If anyone wants to pursue the subject there is an excellent book called "MAYFLOWER" by Nathaniel Philbrick on the pilgrims and there first few years at plymouth plantation, and there are also others on the Jamestown colony in Virginia. Consider that the mortality rate due to starvation, disease, etc was over 50% in the first year alone it had to be a tough and lucky bunch to survive.
Hi Steve--it appears that the perps in this instance were affiliated with a prison gang known as the Aryan Brotherhood, a group not known for its respect or compliance with gun laws. Here is a url forthe story. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/01/u...eath-in-texas-county.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0 In ALL 37 States where "shall carry" statutes have been enacted, there has been NO rise in murders or violent crime, quite the contrary is true. In virtually all jurisdictions, assaults, burgleries, rapes and murders have declined. In Texas, there was a 37% decrease in burgleries thefirst year that concealed carry permits were widely issued. May I suggest John Lott's excellent book, "More guns, Less Crime" foryour reading pleasure. Cheers!
Well, thanks for that, and if in fact those stats are accurate, which could be debateable, ( maybe collected by the NRA ? ), I am sure the victims family would love to read it also. Should give them great peace and tranquility.
