Anybody has a clue what's a reasonable agreed fare (not on the meter) for a taxi drive from Cebu City to Ilo on. Before always took the Ceres bus but a taxi would be a bit more comfortable, so to say. Thanks for any input.

Where is Ilo? If you are talking about iloilo then I'd say you'd look to pay WELL over 5k pesos, if you can even find one willing to make the trip.

I'm referring to Ilo-on across Sibulan on Cebu island. So it's about a taxi drive on Cebu island from Cebu City to Ilo-on.

Think you mean Lilo-an, but I have no idea about the taxi fare.

From Cebu city to lilo-an or Bato is around 160 km.
A taxi fare is between 2,500 and 3,000 pesos.
    Ceres is 159 pesos (+/-)

Thanks a lot. A bit more than I estimated. Will give it a thought.

Be easier and maybe cheaper to hire a V-Hire? (Van)

Depending on the driver of the Ceres bus, I always sit at the rear end of the bus where I can lie down and have a nanna nap if I need to and stretch my legs. I always catch a aircon bus and never have any problems. Beats paying a exorbitant fare, otherwise Cebu Pacific from Cebu to Dumaguete would be cheaper should it not? (1,000 PHP plus taxes?)

After you pay for gas it should be exactly the same price as a taxi. Then how do you get the v-hire back to Cebu? Might end up costing you more than a taxi.

There are many ways leading to Rome as they in Europe. Agree that hiring a van isn't an option for the indicated reasons. An ordinary ticket with CP is cheaper when no excess baggage. But add that plus the terminal fee and a taxi ride. Airport much more far away than south terminal from the place I stay in the city, all in all riding the Ceres finally the best choice. A big advantage, the bus almost stops in front of the place I live, compared with the hassle by tricycle drivers @the airport or pier in Dumaguete to get there. Everybody thanks a lot for their valuable input.
