Hi Folks.. I'm taking the Family to Cebu for two nights around June 10th to take care of My Daughters Passport renewals at the U.S. Consulate. I'd like to be within walking distance of Ayala Center, and so far I've narrowed it down to either the Quest Hotel, Islands Stays Hotel, or possibly the Tune Hotel. All three of these seem to be within Our budget. Does anyone out there have any experience or any advice on these places or possibly something else close by within walking distance of the mall?........Cheers

Hey John, a bit off topic but an important tip. It's advertised that the consulate opens at 9, but actually you want to be there before 7:30. They'll start handing out numbers to the people outside at that time. (I suggest 7:15am)

If you get there after 8 you most likely will be way back in the line and it will take considerably longer to finish.

Also, make sure you have a photo for each year of your Daughter growing up. They wouldn't process us because I didn't have a photo for every single year since her last passport. Thankfully I was able to go to the hotel's business office and download/print more pics from our online photo account.

Wow! Thanks Manzanita, that's some useful info. About needing pics of my Daughters for every year growing up since We first got their passports. I already knew about getting there early to receive a number from the Guard outside. I'll be there by 7am to get a number and then probably have the wife and kids meet me around 8. The last time We were there we stayed at the waterfront hotel and it was overpriced. Although very convenient.. Looking at Quest Hotel right now or islands Stays hotel , both right across from Ayala.. Tune Hotel would be too small for 4 People

For the best hotel rate look at TRIVAGO.COM or HOTELSCOMBINED.COM or KAYAK.COM.
For some more information on a particular hotel try TRIPADVISOR.COM.

Thanks Firefly.. I've always used trip advisor for My Hotel and restaurant reviews.. For the most part they're usually Spot On. The Quest Hotel in Cebu City currently ranks 4th behind 3 other hotels that cost twice as much, but just not as cheap as the Tune Hotel or Island Stays Hotel.. Kayak is also a great site to purchase Hotels and Plane tickets.Several times it was cheaper to Me to to get s flight on EVA airways thru them ( My preferred airline ), but this time it was cheaper to book directly thru EVA. I've heard of hotels combined, but not Trivago. I'll have to give them a try.. Thanks for the Tips.... Cheers

    Tune hotel

If you use agoda travel, agoda.com: Discount Hotel Reservations - Smarter Hotel Booking! when booking the tune hotel, you will get ALL the service for the quoted price as opposed to the "cafeteria plan" charges they advertise for "savings"

Thanks Tirtraveler. As a matter of fact I normally book thru Agoda, but this time it was actually cheaper to book the Tune Hotel directly thru Their website and that was even after I added in the A/C and all the other amenities.....cheers

Golden Prince is also good and is just across Ayala as well... for ultimate convenience, Marriott is just beside Ayala Center...

Quest though is good and is new, opened last year... last time I stayed there had free breakfast...

    hey man

tune hotel is just across the road from the ayala centre

but use agoda to do it

if you use tune's own website they want you to pick and choose the extras (24 tv, internet...blah de blah)

but use agoda and its all included

Actually, the price I got thru Tune Hotels website was a Wee bit cheaper than Agoda this time for some reason, and that included the package with all the extras.Total price on My end was $126 U.S. for two rooms and two nights.. This is the first time I haven't used Agoda when booking rooms in the Philippines. I have always used them when I stay at Best West La Corona in Ermita....cheers
