    yes I did customs at manila will hit you with a 100% duty, you must have a list of every box, quote all items are old personal effects, and drop your value to what ever you want to pay, if you would like to talk in detail private message me.

    Hi , this is what I did pay last Oktober , I had send a 20 ft container from Europe , should be no different if it is comming from Australia. Container was send to Cebu instead of Manila . Paid 20000 p Import duty as personel goods (could have beeing duty free but I had to spend 3 days in Manila to do all the paperwork ), 30000 p transport from Cebu to my door and 30000 shipping agent fee's and documentation fee's. But !!! I I never did show my face until the container was in front of my door, all paperwork on my wife's name , all phone calls all done by my wife . this shipping agent did give a perfect service , the clearance was even faster then the containers I recieve in Europe. there now cheap but it arrived , as it left .:cool:

    Hello a007esprit you said to your door how did they unload your container to the ground? or did you just unload it while still on the trailer or truck?

    7 years ago whilst moving here under a 13A visa, we sent a 40' container door to door from Limerick To here { Himamaylan city]
    No problems, no Import duty's at all. inside the container was our total house hold effects including electrical's Tv's etc again no problems.
    You are permitted a one off importation of household effects as part of your 13A Visa, I was really amazed that it arrived as advertised no duty's etc. but it did !. It was unloaded & placed where the wife wanted it in the house { tips all round ! }
    The smoothest move I ever made.
    Just make sure that the company you pick will do all this for you IE door to door & take care of the customs people.
    Good luck....

    Yes Ireland.
    We used a company called CareLine they have depots all over Ireland Including Limerick.
    As an Expat of many years & countries They were the most courteous & Efficient mover I have ever used, Every thing well packed, in fact not one thing was damaged in the move , That's a first for me, There agents this end were pretty good to , I got a phone call from Manila telling me that my container was in Bacolod & when was it convenient to deliver it to me, as I said they dealt with customs totally. Here is there website link below.
    As far as Tv packaging go's, they did it plenty of bubble wrap & everything was slotted in to the container with professional ease.

    Could not recommend them highly enough.

    Regards....
