Smart Bro allowable usage policy

Anyone know how to calculate the usage on things like Magic Jack, you tube, Skype and others?
I was thinking of putting wifi in my house for my kid's and friends, that's out now.

 

Is P999 a typical monthly charge for unlimited internet? Am I misreading this? If not, what does it cost to actually get unlimited internet access at home without the bandwidth limitations mentioned? (Trying to get a handle on actually living in Dumaguete before I get there.)

 

Hi NYC, it was until recently P999 was unlimited usage at 1mbps or 2mbps for someone like me with many years as a good customer. Now they have changed without notice to only 15 gigs total usage per month at the normal speed. Once you reach 15gigs total usage they cut you down to what I used to get years ago with a dial up connection.
And the price is the same.

Smart also has a 3mbps connection for P1,299, but according to the counter girl it has the same download limit.

There are other providers with higher speeds, and as of now no download limits, however that seems to start around P2,000 and up per month.

PLDT who is in bed with smart has 3mbps unlimited download for P1,999, but I don't think I would be very confident with them.

I have friends with sky and they get over 3mbps unlimited usage as of now including cable tv(and a land line phone I think) for P2,3,00 per month, however they are not available everywhere.

After numerous attempts to reach the not so smart hotline, I have the answer to a question smart users might like.
My question was, since I know I went over their new surprise bandwidth limit, will any further use be deducted next month when they reset my connection on the first of June.

He said no, it will be reset with a clean start.

Hey there expatron. it wasn't pfotoguy you were standing next to at Smart, it was me. and I to have had nothing but problems with my service. As well I have been there several times to complain, but to no avail. They told me that with the basic p999 wireless package you are allowed 15 GB per month. I am sharing my usage with 4 other tennants via wifi, and we are consuming the 15GB in about 4 days. after that our internet speed is reduced to .20 mbps.
