Hello, everyone, We are interested in obtaining a Philippine passport for a pinay and hope to avoid having to go to Cebu. Has anyone been in touch with the Mobile Passport Unit? Does anyone know when they will be returning to Dumaguete for the 2013 season? We hope we have all the documentation needed as stated on the DFA webpage. We not are entirely clear if the Postal Id is a valid document for the List of Acceptable Id's category. One DFA page said it was, another DFA page said it was not. Our NSO birth certificate was slightly blurred but perfectly readable. We emailed a copy to the Cebu DFA Passport Office and asked, but never received a reply. Any additional suggestions you may have will help a lot, so please say all you can that is useful about getting a Philippine passport for a pinay. Many thanks, and may all be well.
Sorry, although the DFA has claimed to have an office here, so far no such occurrance has yet happened. They don't advertise when they will be having an outreach, although the Dumaguete tourism office seems to have a pretty good calendar of their events. Check with them. Postal ID is not generally accepted for passport applications. As long as the NSO certificate is readable, it should be accepted. Good luck! Larry
Hello Mahagonia, actually I think it is much easier to go to Bacolod, can be done in one day, they will generally see you around 1:30 and give you time to travel back to Duma on Ceres bus, without the need of accommodation, DFA office are situated in Lopques east, next to Villa Angela subd. Go see the girls at the travel agent next to Immigration.
Not a bad idea, however, we rode the bus from Dumaguete to Bacolod two weeks ago, due to road construction between Kabankalan and Bacolod it took 7 hours, so one would have to get on the bus at 1 to 3 a.m. in order to be there at a decent hour. Larry
