wast told... Thanks, was told by someone else that he handles real estate. Motorcycle thing is pretty cut and dried, not much to it I am thinking.
I agree to the fullest...... became an immigrant Cebu office and always treated respectfully, Abellon was the attorney never had any problems. He was my neighbor in Dumaguete and we were invited to a big dinner in his house...nothing but pleasure. Made many purchased and sign several contract...never had a problem or anyone trying to bribe me or my wife. Business owner and we have nothing but good to say about Philippines and the authorities here including BIR. 90% of our friend are classy and jazzy Filipinos.... Attitude and friendly behavior takes us anywhere in the world...... not to mentioning the security around our house nightly..... to those guys a cup of coffee and a smile goes a long way...... and a little Christmas bag never hurts .....the have wives and children and a low pay. It is not about what OTHERS do to us..... it is about what we can do for them..... and we can..... OPEN YOUR HEART!
For a good real estate atty you can go to the city hall and look for atty Arthur tolcidas. His quite good and will accommodate all of your concerns. He does everything for us wether its big or small. Didnt even charge us for vehicle notarization. :-)
90% classy and jazzy Filipinos? What's wrong with the poor ones? Not good enough. I find that some of the classy Filipinos are snutty nose and they're only there for when you have something to offer but I like dealing with the poor ones even better because I believe they're the ones that needs help and they will be a good lookout for your property when your not around and easier to deal with, no dramas. Oh well... I'm just probably sick of sitting in the table with classy Filipinos that talk nothing besides what they have and how much money they make. Its bad enough dealing with Aussie women that talks nothing but jewelries and designer stuffs. I just find the poor ones pretty handy and when you ask for a favor, not once they ever disappoint me. From our plumber, caretaker, helpers and neighbours :-). Used to have people peeping in out gates thinking we were building a pool but it was actually a koi pond and told them to come in and see the kois. They loved it and the next day the came around again bringing some sweet mangoes freshly harvested from their yard :-)
Classy and Jazzy has NOTHING to do with being POOR or RICH. It has to do with the character of an individual. Character meaning the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. It is not about what OTHERS do to us..... it is about what we can do for them..... and we can..... OPEN YOUR HEART!
Classy is normally appropriate for rich individuals. I thought you classify your friends according to their worldy possession.
Rich people are Affluent people! Classy is something entirely different. Affluent people; 1. Generously supplied with money, property, or possessions; prosperous or rich. 2. Plentiful; abundant. 3. Flowing freely; copious. A person who is well-off financially: "the so-called emerging affluents"
for the record... I too have mostly positive things to say about Filipinos in Dumaguete area. Most all are honest, kind, and good people. Really, I do not know how this thread which was a simple question about an attorney turns into a long discussion of the merits of the Filipino character vis a vis corruption. It's funny how threads seem to spin off into non-topic directions almost as if other agendas are operating in the background. Also one cannot deny the reputation of this Country for corruption and mistreatment of foreigners, the net is filled with credible examples. But this occurs in other countries as well, not exclusive to R.P.
I noticed the same, maybe it's that we just want to communicate about our experiences and if we see a "trigger" word or sentence, we have to respond on that... And of course things are similar in many other places, even in Switzerland we have corruption it's just not that obvious...
When you say classy in Philippines, you will be expecting a middle class to rich individuals because there's the ones that can afford it. The lower class don't even know proper table etiquette even chew food with their mouths open although they don't think it is rude for foreigners it is. You can't be called classy if your wearing a faded old shirt or pants.
