Read carefully now, The three passengers of a motorcycle that rammed the Ceres bus liner in Sibulan Sunday were declared dead on arrival at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City. The police identified the fatalities as Joji, 33, and Lorenzo, 60, both surnamed Uy, and residents of Pansil, Sibulan; and Gilbert Manila, 22, of Sitio Candaul, Brgy. San Antonio, also of the town. Investigation showed that at around 9 p.m. Sunday, the younger Uy, driver of the motorcycle, tried to overtake the bus at the national highway in Brgy. Ajong, Sibulan, unaware that another vehicle was approaching from the opposite lane. The police report said Uy tried to maneuver back to its original position but slammed into the bus instead. The windshield of the bus cracked and its bumper was broken, while the front wheel and handlebars of the motorcycle got twisted. Bus driver Ramon Pasatiempo Jr., 34, of Brgy. Mayuog, Guihulngan, voluntarily surrendered to the Sibulan Police Station, and was charged for reckless imprudence resulting to multiple homicide, the police said. The bus was impounded at the police station but was released yesterday when the Ceres company issued an affidavit of undertaking, the police added.*RG DAILY STAR: Negros Oriental Larry
That report is so confusing that I had to lay down and put a cold pack on my head to prevent it from exploding, thanks Larry...
About the same as the train driver in Manila who was minding his own business driving and some guy jumped infront of the train and died, the driver was charged! There are so e really f____d up laws in this country!
there should be compulsory third party insurance as in the western countrys, but the problem the locals don't even register their bikes / cars
Correct,as at the moment people expect the innocent party to pay for others mistakes. No insurance, licence or reg should mean no pay!
I am surprised that as of yet, only one person has seemed to catch on that there is more than one issue with this article, even Rony caught it! Larry
Ok, if you are passing a bus, and pull back in due to a vehicle coming the other direction, and try to pull back into your original position, how can you hit the FRONT of the bus hard enough to cause a "broken" bumper and a cracked windshield? Seems a bit impossible to me, but maybe this could be done in Aussie land. Larry
