the bus driver had a very close up view of the motor bike rider going by the head shaped hole in the window, hope he closed his eyes before contact, yes this is a head on, the story is totally wrong, maybe the bus just popped out onto the correct side of the road after overtaking, possibly both drivers were doing the same thing??? you would have to get the story from a foreigner to be accurate.
I do have a pretty good idea... But unless any of us been there and saw exactly what has happened we can keep guessing here and making assumptions and speculations. The news maybe wrong, but that doesnt leave the fact that anoter lives been taken on the road . I wish theyll be extra more careful when they get in their vehicle. I cant believe those bus passengers just stayed in the bus while watching at 2 dead bodies infront of them! And it could be a head on collision... But who knows really what has happened?
Here's the correct interpretation... +1 to larry, head on collision DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — Three people were killed as the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a passenger bus along the national highway at Brgy. Ajong in Sibulan town of Negros Oriental around 9 p.m. last Sunday. A police report identified the fatalities as Lorenzo Uy, 60, married and his son Joji Uy, 33, single, both residents of Brgy. Pansil in Sibulan, and Gilbert Manila, 22, single, of Brgy. San Antonio, also in Sibulan. The victims were rushed to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete where they were declared dead on arrival. Initial police investigation showed the motorcycle allegedly crossed lanes as it tried to pass a vehicle ahead of it but instead figured in a head on collision with a Ceres bus coming from the opposite direction. The bus driver was identified as a certain Ramon Pasatiempo, Jr., 34, married, of Brgy. Mayuog in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental. Pasatiempo, who voluntarily surrendered to the Sibulan Police station, was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide. Both the passenger bus and the motorcycle incurred damages. The police impounded the bus on Sunday but released it later due to the affidavit of undertaking by the bus company, added the Sibulan Police. (FREEMAN)
I remember an article about a guy trying to pass a sugar cane truck on a scooter. He met oncoming traffic and swerved back into his lane running under the sugar cane truck. Sugar cane truck was unaware of the accident (apparently squishing the guys head felt like nothing more than a pothole). Police caught him 20km up the road and charged him with homicide. Unfortunately for the driver the idiot motorcycle driver was a politician. Blows my mind that they charge a person for homicide when he is not at all at fault. I also witnessed first hand an accident with a ceres bus. Came around a corner and there sits a parked ceres bus in the middle of the highway. I stop inches from the ceres bus, I hear tire screeching (I think I'm about to get slammed by a car from behind), as I turn around I see a dirt bike with three filipinos sliding towards the bus. They hit the rear of the bus, their rear tire comes off the ground and all three of their faces smack the back of the bus three stooges style and in unison. Back tire comes back down and they fall over, all three still hugging each other. They all got up with bloody broken noses. Don't know what happened, I left but had to stop a bit down the road because I was laughing so hard. Funniest thing I had ever witnessed in this country.
I don't read anywhere in the article where it says the bike hit the front of the bus. It says the bike pulled back into the original position and slammed into the bus, causing damage to the winshield and bumper. I believe the ceres buses are equipped with rear bumpers and rear winshields.
Go to the previous page and look at the picture. Unless the "original position" was his head in the front window of the Ceres bus. I say he tried swerving to the left and not back into his lane. I don't see how it could be possible to bust a rear bumper AND the rear window (which sits at least 8ft above the road) if going the same direction of the bus and swerving back into your lane, whoever wrote that article is an idiot. This guy was driving like an idiot and gave a Ceres Bus a big bloody kiss. Certainly no sympathy from me. One less idiot on the road, Ceres should get a reward for taking care of him.
"Windshield" is a term generally used only for the FRONT window; Windshield - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Even so, if they had been passing, and then pulled back in, how could they possibly hit the rear of the bus so hard as to damage the bumper of a bus and break out the rear window, which is generally at least 6-7 feet off the ground? They would have had to been traveling 100+ KPH. Larry
I heard from a person who was on the scene that the 3 persons on the bike came from a cockfight (sober??) and overtook (with 3 on the bike!!!) a truck and found the Ceres bus in there way with no way out. With 3 on a bike you can not (even sober) maneuver properly and the extra weight overpowers your brakes. All this b.s about helmets, proper shoes ect is useless as long more than two persons are allowed on one bike. For me: in case of an accident involving more than two persons on one bike: it's the bike drivers fault. I drove bikes for more than 50 years and in many countries and never had a serious accident. In 1983 I had probably the only bike in Dgt or maybe Negr.or. without side car!
Maybe somebody was standing near the road side, saw what's happening and threw a stone to the Ceres bus. I know it doesn't make any sense but just give it a try to find an explanation for the front damage of the bus that could never have been made by the driver of the motorcycle. Any other suggestion more than welcome, coz I give it up. Have no idea they can do that in Aussie land but 100% sure in the PH as it appeared now.
