Meeting a NICE lady in Dumaguete

Been here a couple months now...finally settled in a decent apt. For all you long time Duma expats...advice on where and how a somewhat shy mid 50's gentleman should begin his search for a nice lady to spend his retirement with.Not into bars or cruising the "boulevard" looking for company.Interested to hear any and all suggestions!

 

1.)You can also go on Asia Date.com(i hope i'm correct with the website) i heard some girls are nice and true...choose girls from Leyte most of them are really nice, beautiful and trustworthy. Exchange a conversation transparently,visit her place and don't spent any cents without meeting her in person. Very important! check if she has adam's apple and balls.

2.)You can also try on Salesgirl, University Students at the mall. NO to bar girlsO--O, if possible.

3.)If you have a friend who married a good wife, perhaps you can ask some referrals from her.

4.) I agree with Wrey83. Based on my personal experienced, people(i call them Humans) are up there in the Mountainside, they have genuine heart and beautiful. Trust me once you get there, you see thing's in life differently. best of luck!

it depends what your plans with the lady are. get used to the fact, that it is nearly impossible to find anybody where you will be able to discuss with on more than preschool level... if talking with sense is not a priority, there are plenty of lovely ladies and good a future wife to find, also Dumaguete is at the bottom end of options in the Philippines, but thats just my opinion.

 

The person you choose must be able to continue a conversation after you close the bedroom door each morning, if not you will find it very lonely very quick . after 8 years and many lessions i say dont be in a hurry and i would not look at any girl under 27 year old good english helps a lot.
Many things come into play , her family and your comitment to them ect, how far away from the exstended you will live , remember she will want to visit them so it can be a added cost if its to far . I got the best one so you will have settle for the second best lol

You can also check out parades and fiestas. The women at these events are in a festive mood and they feel empowered by being with their friends. It seems that every time I go to one of these (usually just passing through to get somewhere else) I get at least one group calling out to me. In some cases they can be quite aggressive and not taking no for an answer when they ask for my cell phone number. I have a girlfriend and I don't even make an effort to get the attention.

Strike up a bit of smalltalk with girls at the shops or other people around you. Since you are retired, make sure to take life a bit slower and interact with people more than you would at the rat race back home. Getting a conversation going is half the battle as they are often too shy to talk to you. When they start asking a lot of questions about you, then you can be pretty sure they are interested.

You could also get some sort of B.S. business cards printed out to make things a bit easier. After you get some small talk out of the way, then slip a business card. You would probably get quite a few texts every week from doing this.

Dating sites a bit of a mixed bag. Every profile on these sites is from someone specifically looking to hook up with a foreigner for some reason. You would be better off going for someone who is content with making life work in the Philippines. You don't want to hook up with some super ambitious girl who is looking for a ticket to your home country at all costs. Some girls have been regulars on these sites for years, bouncing from one foreigner to another hoping to get that golden ticket. If you spend time on a dating site, you might want to sort the list by the date they signed up.

 

Got to disagree with the age of 27, in my opinion at this age they tend to have all the tricks up their sleeve, been burnt by their pinoy husband or a foreigner , and are more likely to be already married with 3 kids, but that’s just my opinion

 

If your religious, you'll find that there are some nice ladies in the church there and I agree with the posts above, stay away from bar girls some of them can put you in a big trouble. The right one will eventually come along. Just take it easy and in a relationship it's not always about finding the best partner but its about being a good partner yourself :-). It's a two way street. Btw, if you find one, Make sure she's got a job and can't be manipulated by her parents, an orphan is better :-). LOL
