    Hi,

I would just like to know more info about the commandos here in dumaguete. Not the common ones. The ones I am referring are the Civilians, the type of training which they do not offer to police or other armed forces in Philippines. I would just like to know more about their background, origin, the type of art they use, etc.

    Would greatly appreciate any info.

    Thanks,

Have been really curious with them. On why they are living under such secrecy. Can't find any article in the internet regarding or related to them. :D

Go to McDonald's in the morning, most of the older ones sitting around talking are likely secret service of some sort. They aren't afraid to tell you about it either.

Honestly though, why in the world would a secret police tell you what they are doing or where they came from? Wouldn't be much of a secret if they just posted everything they do online now would it?

LOL. You're right. However, the commando I am referring are not the ones related with the Gov't or any armed forces. They are just civilians. I don't actually know where they got their name. One thing I know however is that they specialize in hand-to-hand combat and that the one that taught them was a japanese. Another story I've heard that made some Dumaguetenos and the Local Police fear them was because of an incident that occured during the 80s or 90s, wherein 6 drivers confronted a commando member. Most of them were brought to the hospital in a critical condition. Sorry for my english if the story wasn't so clear. So basically, these "commandos" are just ordinary people.

Thereis aabsolutely no reference to any such "commando" online. Most "secret" organizations are usually surrounded by more myth than fact. I suspect whatever you heard about this group is likely more of a tall tale.

Commandos are not all police. Some of them are priso caballero ( they're in and out of prison) they go out to do some tasks for the police. Some you'll find are what they call as NPA's but they're not at all related in any way to the police as a matter of fact, they're considered as criminals.

Just for additional info but somehow related to the thread:

Philippines Guardians Brotherhood, i heard about this group when i lived in Siquijor. I met one which is an ex-american army(not damaged) he is physically and mentally fit. This group are for men only mostly civilians; their goal is mainly for justice, peace and discipline, no weapons or guns supplied. I think they're some kind of reserved army, or could be also used for political agenda (i'm not sure).
Once you are registered, you will under go trainings physical arts and will be tattoed with a new botherhood name.

There's another kind of Group which is for locals only, (those who are working at the government agencies) they get a monthly allowance. I know one(deceased) and the wife came to know that her husband was a Captain of the group only after he died. They are not NPA's, its another kind of Civilians most of them are professionals and working with the government.

The rest are Groups of ex-convict, and others were Myths..

    The guardians (originally known as "Diablo Squad") are a long standing fraternity created in Mindanao in an effort to protect citizens. They are nationwide 30+ years later and respected by law enforcement and criminal groups alike;

    Guardians History

Guardian members usually have a tattoo on the webbing of their thumb or upper arm that resembles a triangle of dots, with "guardians" sometimes in the middle.

Sorry mate. The guardians are not a "secret" organization. The are very similar to the free masons. They are more likely to help grandma carry the groceries home than be called up for any type of military service/ get in a fight /infiltrate the government. Most of these groups are open to anyone (sometimes military service or religious beliefs can be a requirement to joining). Most don't recruit, you must seek them out and request to join. Most have a hazing process of some sort prior to becoming a member.

The guardians get GV (along with additional letters depending on what military service you are/were in) tattooed between their thumb and index finger. Which isn't too secretive if you ask me. I have seen foreigners and locals with these tattoos. It's not just for foreigners.

In all honesty there is nothing to learn from these groups concerning some "secret hand to hand combative" skills. There is no secret death touch or anything like that. That's pure Hollywood drivel. Modern day special forces use techniques that are proven to take down a person as quickly as possible. Leverage, pressure points, modern understanding of the human body's weaknesses and speed, strength and agility is what makes them deadly. Not calling on the chi/some mystical being/long lost or hidden combative technique to help you out.

The problem I see with these groups is not the conspiracy theories attached to them but more so the favoritism that they sometimes use for each other on the workplace. Other than that they are mostly charity / community building organizations.
