    "Dear Fellow Americans,

    We will have a SSA outreach on Tuesday, August 27th between 9am to 2pm and on Wednesday, August 28th between 9am to 12noon. Please pass this information to any Americans you know and who might not be on my e-mail list and would like to talk to one of the 5 officers from SS who will be at the Consular Agency on these two dates.

    So what will you do....

    John who? What will you do during this so-called "outreach"? Is there a contact email address to these people, or is this all just for show?

    Try reading the message, it comes from John Domingo at the Cebu Consulate. I won't be doing anything, as I will not be going.

    Probaby some kind of bureacratic requirement

    I've worked in government agencies. They usually hold these things because they have to according to regulations. What is accomplished is often very little.

    The outreach they had in DGT was great for us, got our daughter registered for part of her citizenship process etc. Glad they could do it. First time I can recall having any dealing with the government that did not cost us anything. People were friendly and helpful.
