Close to Casa Alicia and El Pueblo Genovivo subdivisions on Palinpinion Road. I have sent an inquiry text to try to get more info (monthly cost and inclusions, accomodations, who will provide care, etc....) but no reply as of yet. I am just curious, not actually looking for a nursing home...........

Additional info: This is going to be a facility that offers many services based upon patient needs and not limited to senior citizens. They will have in-house physical therapy, dietician, and psychologist. They will also offer adult day care services with planned activities. Costs will be based on services utilized.

Have to wonder why this place is suddenly springing up, when the planned intention !!! is to develop the South Seas resort site in Bantayan into a full blown tertiary care unit complete with helipad. If this "first nursing home" has any measure of success, the copy-cat syndrome will kick in and plenty of others will mushroom around the area, and then go out of business just as quickly.

Who is the builder/owner? Where do they expect the guests/patients to come from? Someone speculating in getting foreigners money?
Good idea, if caring for people is the main objective, but as a business with profit....DOOMED TO FAIL!

An expat very close to the SSeas developer told me a few weeks ago the plan was to sell condos etc in advance to finance the project-and the advance sales were not up to expectations!

We wanted to take such venture, took us 2 years to study and we decided not to take the risk. Nursing Home is a 24 hours business, responsibility is 10 times more than a rental/resorts properties.

I have refused more than 8 old age renter age from 85-96 (6 expats & 2 filipinos with their owned Nurse)in a year, now i think that is a very good figure knowing that my place is not a Nursing Home.

As we know Filipina Caregiver and Nurse are more caring, Old people needs more emotional attention and filipina's somehow good on that, they have pure love to Elders. My mother was a family caregiver of my Grandmother (aged 97), 2 Grandfather (aged 90's) there was no home care center in Mindanao otherwise Siblings must have put them in the center. I remember my Mum told me that the grandparents were not relaying on medicines anymore because they became addicted to it. She thinks it was the kids around and her constant affection prolonged their stay and the Grandparents didn't even know their names & who they are.

I'm glad that somebody make a move. I wish them good luck and success to the new venture.

I don't know that all Filipinas are more caring for elders. I've seen plenty that aren't. You'd need the right girls to be working in a place like that

I think that would be a universal rule and can be applied anywhere, you need the right people for any job, to be successful...

And who said the only good caregivers are girls? Some of the best and most caring nurses/nurses aids I have encountered have been males!!
