LMAO. You must not have had much dealings with government offices here. Answers are subject to change according to which desk you ask at, the time of day, and/or what mood the person behind the desk is in. The answer you get may or may not be the correct and updated one!

Thats true. But if the employés at a government office don´t even know the rules, they are supposed to administrate, then how are members of a forum like this supposed to know them?

I still think this is the type of question, which is most appropriately asked to the people, who are at least SUPPOSED to be able to answer it. And not indirectly in a forum like this, where - as is quite apparent from this thread - the poster will not get any usefull answers.

I if want to know the opening hours in Super Lee Plaza or their policy for returning items, I bought from them, I will also ask at Super Lee Plaza. I will not ask in a forum.

Sometimes members of a forum will know the actual pertinent laws, and be able to reference to it, which would allow someone to print the law and take it to the government agency in question who does not know their own guidelines, in order to correct or somewhat alleviate the problem.

Lee Plaza makes up their own hours, you are welcome to decipher their useful answers at your leisure. They do not know the laws that they must abide by either. They have nobody to answer to but themselves, unless someone drags them to DTI, which I have done with positive results.

True. But perhaps the poster should then have done a bit of homework to qualify her question and get a better result. Like:

"I called the city hall in Dumaguete yesterday and was told this and that. Can someone here comfirm, if that is really true? And perhaps post a link to the pertinent law, so I can read it and bring a print, when I go back to the city hall next time?"

And who knows? If she had actually taken the time to call the city hall, then maybe she would have gotten a satisfactory answer already, and there would have been no need to post the questions here?

Now I am fine, that people post all sort of questions in a forum. I don`t mind it. Its up to me and others, if we want to spend time answering them or not.

But for the best result, you sometimes need to do a bit of work yourself rather than just posting 4 words in a forum and expect other people to spend a lot of their time to provide you with the information, which you seek.

It is really not that difficult to understand, if you don't want to answer someone's question because it will take up too much of your time, don't! Her four words answered her question, I think (which may or may not be correct), and she didn't have to brave downtown and an hour or more in city hall to get an answer that may or may not have been correct.

I don't see anyone that spent as much time answering her question as you have spent condemning her for asking it.

I am not condemning her for asking it. I am giving her the only usefull advice, she has received from anyone so far, including yourself. And that advice is to forward her question to the municipality of Dumaguete. If she is going to build a property here, she will need to talk to the municipality anyway, nomather if its difficult or not to get consistent information from them. There is no way to avoid it.

If you could clarify your post it might....might, end a lot of speculative posts. Are you looking to build? Interested in the architecture in the area? Upset with a neighbor who just added a third floor? Questioning the validity of something you overheard? This thread is taking on a life of it's own for just a passing thought.

Hey guys. The purpose of this forum is to:

“Share all your stories, trip reports, information, and ask your questions about anywhere around Negros Oriental here on our friendly forums.”

    Statements like:

    “Have you been to Dumaguete?”

    Or:

“LMAO. You must not have had much dealings with government offices here.”

    Or:

“Will you be hosting seminars to teach mortals how to post to your liking?”

are not usefull to anyone, nor are they funny.

May I suggest, that if you don`t know the answer to a question posted here, then do one of the following:

    a) Don`t reply to the thread
    b) Suggest where and how the poster can find the answer to his/her question
    c) Ask the poster to qualify his/her question, if you think more information is needed to answer it properly

    Have a nice day everyone.
