Can anyone recommend a trickle charger available in Dgte that actually maintains the low current charge rather than putting too many amps etc into the battery? I haven't tried one here yet, but iirc the key is to get one that does what it's supposed to.

If that doesn't work I might be looking to replace my non-locally sold Kawasaki's sealed battery with another one. How about that place on the corner by Robinsons-do they have any m/c batteries

They have a wide variety of batteries. I bought one for a Harley there.

I had better luck with the battery store opposite Robinsons (not the one at the crossing), along the Highway before Petron, they have "Quantum" batteries from abroad that are far better than the local ones and a "trickle charger" will not solve the problem with a almost dead battery...

I would also point out that even "sealed" batteries will need water if subjected to overcharging.

I looked up info on youtube and the internet regarding gell batteries. Other than people hawking some recharge techniques on yt, the other search results kind of negative on adding water to one.

But I'll take a look again if I need to

Maybe that could be because GEL batteries use Silica GEL (not water), while lead acid batteries use sulfuric acid, which turns to water as the charge diminishes.

I doubt you will find many gel batteries in use on motorcycles here.

My 250cc Kawasaki has a gel battery; the bike was assembled in Thailand, but one of the previous owners may have added the gel battery.

I see there are other options regarding m/c batteries including RC battery packs that guys with bikes like mine are having good luck with and the Shorai lithium-iron batteries

The corner battery dealer near Robs didn't have one that'd fit my bike, but he did offer up the advice that in his experience adding an on/off switch to a bike that wasn't equipped with one interferes with the electrical/charging system overcharging the battery..

I disconnected my hi beam a few months ago at the switch to give me an Off position, and usually ride with the Lo beam on, but don't usually have the light on while I have it running at home. I'm exploring that notion about the headlight being Off online at a Kaw forum to see what other owners know.

The dealer across from Robs had a battery that'd fit, but it didn't have a warranty and only cost p1200 or something like that so that doesn't sound encouraging does it?

My battery started the bike well today, so we'll how things go from here.

Gel batteries are commonly used in buggies in the event you will end upside down and have acid dripping on you, normally with bikes you become separated in a mishap so the good old common lead acid is ok
