In AU there was an insect aerosol bomb, activate it close the doors get out of the house for a day if possible, they worked great, but not in a room where there could be a spark, eg. ref or gas water heater, or you will have the result like other mentioned, burn every thing:D

FWIW, you will likely have to treat the whole house. Once you discover the little devils they have likely migrated . They will hitch a ride on your clothes, etc and as soon as you sit in your overstuffed chair in the LR, they now have a new home and are just waiting for you to come back and sit down so they can have a meal.I think bedbugs and cockroaches will be tha last creature standing after the final nuclear bomb has dropped.

On another parasite problem, Head lice, what I experimented with was Aeroguard an Australian personal insect repellant, I have run out of my stock but now have found that off lotion works well I call it p*ss off lotion.
Mixing: I use about 30% p*ss off to 70% water in a very fine spray bottle.
Method of use, spray in the hair in layers, wash hair after 4 to 6 hours later, and repeat in 10 days as the nits / eggs that have survived will hatch.
Also a good personal repellant that is not so strong.

I had the same problem at home in Canada and found a quick effective solution.
But you need to get some diatomacious earth, looks like talcum powder, used in gardening .If you can t find it here, I understand you can get it in cebu city.If you can t get d.e. ,use a powdered insecticide recommended by others.
First you have to get a bedsheet that goes all the way around the mattress, they zipper up and trap the bugs . If not, use some saran wrap.and wrap the mattress. I would just leave the bedsheet on. Next get a one inch sponge paint brush, and "paint" the d.e. very thinly so you can hardly see it, around the baseboard of your bedroom. Just leave it there permanently, replacing from time to time if needed.Paint around any furniture too.
Make sure you get the d.e. that is safe for humans, the one they feed to livestock. Read the label.

Took me about 3 days, and I never saw another bedbug afterwards.

Oh! I hate it. You should go to a store nearby you, I bet you will find something better to use. I think some body creams are effective. Consult with a doctor.

    diatomaceous earth and bedbugs

As a follow up you should also "paint" around your bed,and around the side of the mattress.
The bedbugs become dehydrated when they come into contact with the d.e.,and so do their numerous offspring, which you then won t see(they are microscopic but normally can hurt like hell) or experience . If they have spread , do the baseboards of the house.
In the apartment where I lived ,neighbours started chucking out their furniture. I saw a great looking couch in the hallway. My neighbour gave it to me. I painted around the base and liberally under the cushions . Soon I had the greatest looking bug free furniture in the building.

I saw in a cebu thread somewhere where you can get it in cebu, but my memory fails me. Probably a google search would help.

Aeroguard is GREAT stuff!! :D One night out fishing I asked the old man where he had the tin of Aeroguard and pointed to the back of his old Wagon, so off I went in the dark and fumbled around in the back of the Car, grabbed out a can and closed my eyes and sprayed a liberal dosage onto my face, then ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!! Mortein Bug Spray burns worse than a face full of Petrol!! The next few days my face was swollen and looked like a bad sunburn...

Is there any SAFE effective Mosquito Sprays available around Dumaguete? I am hoping to be there this December and after a bout of Ross River Fever in my youth after living out in the Cane Fields with Mozzies big enough to carry you away I am PARANOID about the Mosquitoes there as one night talking on the phone to wife to be I asked what was that strange noise in the background and she casually replied it was the Mosquitoes on the outside of her Mozzie Net! :(

Mate after THAT I ALWAYS checked what the Can was! I spent the majority of that night washing my face in the salt water in the river trying to stop the burning feeling, but I think the salt in the water only helped to burn already damaged skin as my face was red like a beetroot for days before it began to subside.

Has anyone tried this and does it work effectively?

DE I think is available at Polaris. If not, they should be able to guide you to a supplier. It's what is used in pool filters.
