With so many posts seeming to be on the "negative" side of things...I can now testify that good customer service can indeed still be found in the Phils. Without going into a lot of detail..I purchased a new bike from Kymco in Duma on july 15th/2013. Had an annoying whine coming from the cvt since day one. I brought it to their attention immediately of course..and after the usual "its suppposed to sound like that Sir" and considerable aggravation at having the gear changed and the problem remaining the same the problem has been fixed in a most satisfactory manner. THEY GAVE ME A NEW BIKE! Yes its true...I now have another brand new bike at no additional cost to me. I want to give a huge pat on the back to the staff at the Duma Kymco dealer that went out of their way to make calls to Manila,Taiwan etc..and finally were able to exchange my original bike for a new one.Apparently this is the first "exchange" such as this they have ever done...and I am quite impressed with the level of concern shown towards making the customer happy. Customer service is indeed still available in the Phils! Its not all bad here folks...hopefully more "positive" experiences then "negative" for all. Again...congrats to the staff At Kymco Dumaguete for renewing my faith in Philippine customer service!

Nice to hear! Is your new bike quiet? You can't hear a whine coming from the CVT now?

They had a problem a few (like 12-14) years ago with the Kimco 150 semi off-road bike, whereas the frame cracked on some bikes, they brought in new frames from Taiwan for all bikes sold with corresponding frame numbers and did the swap at the owners residence, a friend of mine still has his cracked frame laying around the yard...

A good retailer knows that there are alot of foreigners in Dumaguete, this is just good business sense, and word travels fast in a small community.

"Good business sense"? Here? That rarely happens, but this thread is a proof that it does indeed happen occasionally.

Customer service is dead...You are simply lucky, just like playing in the lotto.

luck had little to do with it..it took 2 1/2 months of me being persistent and not taking no for an answer. many visits to the dealer and working my way up from the salesman to the manager.to the district sales manager and then asking for an appointment with the owner.i am simply stating that if one puts some effort into their complaint..instead of just giving up and bad-mouthing the country they choose to live in perhaps you could get the results you are looking for also.it took time and effort..but the final result..i would call good customer service...whether you agree or not. i am so tired of all the "glass is always half empty" types that seem to live to complain. if you dont like it here go home for gods sake....do everyone on this forum and indeed the whole country a favor...i doubt the negativity will be missed.

Sorry I would not call it "good customer service " If you had to badger them for 2 1/2 months,
& have to see all the management within the company.
Good service would have been for them to take it in immediately, & not try to fob you off with "they all sound like that " & replace as soon as possible.

as you know they dont have demo's or floor models to compare..after they were able to compare mine to another super8 and hear the difference i had a new bike the same day...good customer service in my opinion.the 2 1/2 months was simply trying to find someone nice enough to let me test drive their super8 and make the comparison. i am now a satisfied customer..and only wanted to give credit where credit is due.
