The Singapore River tells a tale like no other location in Singapore. Along this stretch, Singapore's past, present and future are inextricably intertwined. Just cruise the river in a pumboat. This simple yet entertaining river ride is situated at both Clarke Quay and Raffles Place (Boat Quay). Throughout the entire journey the scenes that surround you are nothing less than postcard perfect. The best time is at dusk so you go down the river in the daylight and go back when the litted up skyscrapers reflect on the water...

This is from my recent trip:

Sendosa island is Singapore's playground and a great place to go to get away from the city and high-rised buildings. Sentosa is also home to a number of Sandy beaches.. It would be really nice to swim here if there weren't so many big oil tankers parked in short distance. They say that if you cross the small suspension bridge located in Palawan Beach, then you are at the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia. In this video you can see some beaches , attractions of the island and aerial view from the skyride.
