We have a young lad whose education we have been sponsoring, he is currently enrolled in computer repair and needing old computers for "hands on" training. This is a very "low budget" operation, so if anyone has old computers/parts laying around that they could donate or sell very cheaply to help a young man's education it would be appreciated. This is a great idea. I wish there were a place to get cheap boards like the Raspberry Pi with the ARM processor. Then rather than teaching computer repair the kids could still learn about how a computer works, but also use it to do some programming. Another valuable skill would be to connect some computers together and create a network. If I were rich, I would love to setup a "maker lab" decked out with things like cheap boards, 3D printers and other things. I'm working on it though, I will let you know when I get there (rich.)
