A certain type of woman and older man

Has anyone else run into this type? (I am an older guy who is taken for someone in their 50's usually, but on bad days I probably look older).
She is much younger, like 20's -30's. She seems interested and says she is, gives you her cell phone number and even texts you several times. But you cannot get her to meet with you. She seems to crave the texting attention, the exchange is cordial, but you cannot close the deal. Is this some way of making fun of a foreigner or older guy? At least in my country of origin you find out immediately if there is any interest or not, it's direct and often brutal but at least you know. You don't waste time on someone who is making fun of you. There seem to be alot of Pinays here in Dumaguete like this or maybe I am just trying to operate out of my league. I don't bother texting with this type any more, if they won't meet immediately, I drop them quick.

 

its either she's playing hard to get or she's just playing around. i'd say get it straight to her and ask her, her real intentions but if she keeps texting you then she might be interested but trying to not make it obvious but if you really want to know the real score then why not just ask her?then take it from there? :-)

 

I think you got it right. Don't play the texting game at all. Where are you getting the numbers? Dating sites? Or are you getting the number from them in person?

 

I've run across that type several times, don't let it discourage you. Any hint of games/problems/scams/or general BS and they never hear from me again.

It is not possible to "ask her" her "real intentions" because she will not tell you. Filipinas can be great pretenders since their culture teaches them they cannot say "no" this often results in the kind of scenario the o.p. refers.

"She seems to crave the texting attention..." Yes you got it right there. She is not making fun of you. Your frustration is understandable, but it's a generational, not a filipino phenomenon. You have become part of her network for "boredom texting." The text you receive may in fact be one that is sent to everyone on her address list, just to see who wants to text. For that reason, I advise my friends to put my name in a text if they want a response. New acquaintances, like yours, I advise that I am not her (or his) textmate. If they argue and ask why, I will be more blunt: "Texting is the lowest form of communication" or even "Texting sucks". After making an invitation or two to meet, I will put a stop to it and move on.

On the other hand, boy and girl filipinos will sometimes meet each other by text and decide, sight unseen, to "have drinks" together, in other words to meet for sex.

clearly she just wants you for your money. its hard to find a decent girl anymore. any girl in their twenties would never be interested in a guy whos 30 to 40 yrs older than them not unless for money ofcourse regardless of race. its not just pinays. look at mr playboy hefner himself. 80yrs old having a 20yr old gf. you think thats real love. its clearly for money. this is just my honest opinion. dont get butt hurt right away Mod01.
