This response misses the point. She is connecting only by telephone. She's not doing anything do get his money, such as joining him on a shopping trip. The original poster might be happy if she were out for his money!

 

Filipinas lead the world in texting. Western girls might text alot too but they also meet in person and talk on the phone, whereas filipinas just want to text allllllllllll day.

A "textmate" is a term, afaik, that is unique to the PI. I've even seen ads on dating sites saying "seeking textmate" and two young filipinos will text each other and fall in love - and this is real love. Texts may last for months without the parties ever meeting, oftentimes it involves an OFW who has lots of down time while on a ship or as a caregiver and texts hundreds of times a day with their love in the PI.

When I think of all the filipinas I know only a couple stand out as a cut above the rest. One was a girl from Sibonga that I met through a friend, I went down to sibonga a few times to meet her and she came up to cebu a few times to meet me, but nothing romantic happened. I asked our mutual friend why she wasn't interested and I was told it's because she has a textmate on a ship and he will be arriving in 2 months.

Turns out they had been texting for months, had never met, weren't going to meet for 2 more months but they considered themselves exclusive with each other. Fast forward 5 years and they're now, married, have two kids, and according to FB pics, seem very much in love.

In general, if a filipina isn't willing to meet in less than a week or less than 100 texts I delete/block her number. I'm sure that's alot more patient than most guys here. However, I occasionally make exceptions and one took almost 6 months and about 1000 texts, but she was worth the wait!

When in PI you can be stubborn and anti-texting but I guarantee it will decrease your success with women. If you don't like texting because of the tedious typing on a phone, I suggest getting a free app or program that allows texts to be sent entirely through a keyboard and computer. Some voice to text apps work depending on your voice and accent.

Thank you very much for your informative reply. I learned a lot from your post and I had NO IDEA this was the case with texting.
I hate cell phones and I hate texting, so maybe I will followup on your recommendation for a cell phone program, do you have a name?
But really if a woman does not want to meet with you in person, what's the sense of wasting your time being a monkey pressing keys?
In fact that's what I feel like online sometimes in chat and other places. The internet has really gotten bad and it's getting harder and harder to separate all the cr*p from anything good. I now have some standard replies I use with these text fiends. They will swear up and down they are interested in you and they really just want a text mate. Who has time for that really? Not me. But it helps to keep an open mind. One that I thought was playing me SAYS she is coming to my house tonight. Time will tell, stay tuned, same bat channel.
I am thinking of ways to make myself look younger, haha, cuz I really think this stuff about age not mattering is frequently bogus and the ones that say it does not matter are kinda like long term prostitutes. I asked one Filipina about this and she said: "they are just being practical". Yeah ok maybe they do look at it differently, probably the same as some hot model with a billionaire geezer in my country.
But the Filipinas seem to be masters of remaining elusive, not showing their true intentions and reeling you in if you have sufficient funds and are willing to take on their kids.

I really can only guess why you think I would be offended by your answer. I KNOW I am old, you don't have to tell me that and I KNOW most women, even Filipinas, are not sexually attracted to old guys. I accept it, nothing I can do about my age really. Also I agree with you, most all young women with really old guys are in it for the cash. But as one old guy said: Everyone tells me, and I know she wants me for my money, but AT LEAST she wants me, haha.

I suggest that you cultivate patience, at least when it comes to internet chat, if you find that easier than texting. At least you can see her on the internet, and you should require that. There may be shyness to meet a foreigner in person, and a need to "get to know you" first. Or, as a poster above has suggested, she may not be in a situation that permits a new relationship. For her, you are an asset to be kept in storage. Her situation may change in future. Or she can win points (obligation) by offering you to a spinster aunt or a loser friend with two kids who wishes she had a foreigner. In any case, she is not making fun of you. She may do that when you meet in person with her friends along.

 

It is not just money, there are a lot of guys here very happy with their much younger gals, it’s all about being treated nice being loved not having to put up with a drunkard/ womanizer/ gambler/basher/ someone that don’t want to work and support his family, so why wouldn’t a young pinay be happy with a nice older foreigner ?
