Well from my limited 69 years experience here and in the U.S. I'd guess we could be looking at as much as a weeks worth of after shocks, possibly even 2 more weeks worse case scenario . Hopefully not but is very possible. Let's hope old mother earth goes back to sleep soon. I felt it here at the same time, my computer screen and table was wiggling pretty good. But they should at least diminish as time goes on. It is quite unlikely we'd have another big one soon. But one never knows. All I can say is odds are the worst is over and we can relax.
    Take care,
    Charlie

I guess God has been very good to us! We live about 25 klm north of Duma....yes, we have felt the aftershocks...but on the first quake, the house did "shake, rattle and roll" a bit . LOL! The florr did actually move vertically up and down. My asawa was...and still is, scared shitless, as she experienced the Baguio earthquake back around 90-91. poor baby......she is still very worried and it's now about midnight Tuesday night/Wednesday am. We have not had any new cracks or damage to our house or lot...it was worse 2 years ago when there was that quake about 40 klm north of us in Manhoyad (splg?).
    Take care,Don

    not me

Not me. At least with hurricane you usually get some warning to get the hell out. With earthquake, no warning; if you're in collapsed building you are buried alive

I could be wrong, but I think you and Princeton are on the same team!

Me too, but then I enjoy most of Mother Nature's tantrums, with the exception I have seen enough snow for a lifetime.

Second that. This shake mightier than last year but I can stand up all the time. Everybody I see go down, and some start whining. Last year have to go down. Why? Answer: distance. Last year just 10 km away, now in Bohol. No damages, no power cuts, internet workie - that is Moalboal.

Also have a suggestion that limestone ground in our area works like a bumper, an elastic sponge which absorbs most of the tectonic powers. Maybe good so

I've heard that Robinson's Mall was shut with some visible damage....also a Noreco pylon was damaged nearby.
Latest toll was 107 dead in Bohol and Cebu areas.
Earthquakes can be extremely destructive and the magnitude of damage to a building is dictated also by the quality of materials and design adopted. Standards are pretty low here in the Phils hence the tragic loss of lives.
Japanese authorities are now calling for the Filipino government to improve on such standards....time will tell.
May all the victims rest in peace and their families find the strength to carry on.

It's not so much that the building code standards are low, it is more that corruption is high, so for a few extra pesos inspectors look the other way...
