We have a front loader here but it did take the mrs 6 months before she believed me it was much easier but she still insists in sitting in the c/r on a low stool with the lights off happily scrubbing!
Anyway I don't think it matters which way it's done, but whilst she is doing this I get peace. Oh and it does f--k up the elastic with all the scrubbing!

 Even with some good deals about Town, I cannot convince Azon to have a machine, I guess it is back to her upbringing, Good enough for her mother and her Lola before, I am firmly believing, she actually enjoys this chore and I have to admit, she complains very little, about the time spent hand washing and I have no, complaints about the results:D

Sometimes as the old saying goes, "If it isn't broken , don't fix it".
We all know what opinions are like and everyone has one. What works for one doesn't mean it works for all. This machine business is just a personal choice. Your system seems to be working fine, so might as well let a sleeping dog lay. We'll stick with our 50% machine wash and 50% hand. Whatever works you people personally is what to stick with of course.

I reckon it all depends on how familiar you are with those contraptions. When I moved in to my place, I found one of those washing machine things already installed. It was in its' own room and had a water pipe already connected. I put some clothes in it, closed the lid, and pressed the lever on the side. When I lifted the lid, a load of blue water had flushed all my clothes away. Never used it since. :p

I think that particular contraption was meant for your "broadside".

when I was with my ex b*tch asawa we had 2 helpers, we had a washing machine, but the b*tch didn't like the helper to have any spare time so made her wash by hand which took many hours, its about taking up the day with choirs, many local men wouldn't want their asawa to have spare time also, keep them busy and out of the way, maybe no time to play up

we progressed, we use to walk, then rode a horse, then horse and sulky, now motor bikes and cars, boats and planes, so dipping your hands in those chemicals / soap powders is just insane, I want my woman to have soft hands mmmm not some old leathery damaged and cracked hands that you would expect your 90 year old grandmother to have.
Notice the men here ride motor bikes and cars, they are not walking as the past relatives did, they have made things easier with one of those westerner machine contraptions, but to make something easy for their wife or worker would be the last thing.
What we pay the worker P1,500 a month she will work until she drops is the attitude.
