The couple biz I was using evidently are not in business anymore-given the zany way businesses are run here its no wonder.. I want to be able buy online, ship to their address, and get it sent here to Dgte a couple weeks later, but doing a search online hasnt helped Any suggestions?
I want to buy a motorcycle air filter and the plate that goes under it from the USA, and want to get it in a few weeks instead of two or more months The filter looks like this and the gold colored plate next to it The boutique next to Bo's on the blvd has a sign (pointing away from the highway..) offering quick packages from the US, but like a lot of locally owned endeavors they are only half into it, because they no longer respond to email/texts/ (surprise?)
Maybe you could go to the boutique and ask in person. USPS website can ship in 6 - 10 days for a reasonable fee. Use USPS Priority Mail International (NOT Express) Most sellers in the U.S. will use USPS if you ask them. Here is the website: http://ircalc.usps.com/default.aspx?Mode=Intl_Single&CID=10440&country=10355
I think a part here and there isn't a concern. People are shipping in parts to repair their motorcycles etc all the time. Customs just doesn't want any volume importing I emailed the US address (again) of the boutique's business, called Calif, and even text the boutique the other day. All with no reply The Calif guy is probably unhappy with me because I mentioned to him months ago the boutique only had 1 info paper, and I had to go all the way down to Bethel to make my own copy...? Which didn't seem like a good way of doing business You know how it is here, if someone complains just ignore them. Like the Norwegian who was politely complaining at the Portal West gym about the aircon ...next time he went in they refunded his membership telling him not to come back saying, "We have a no complaints policy"
Sounds like a freight forwarding office would be a good business to set up in Duma! Also, LBS is pretty good to work with IF you can find an employee that actually knows what they are talking about. They have partners in the U.S. that they work with.
I have shipped in automotive and motorcycle parts numerous times (15-20 times) mostly using UPS. There is no duty on parts, however you will pay 12% VAT on the cost of the parts AND on the shipping costs. There will likely be a small handling fee too. Larry
You can ship a small box $65.00 from any U S post Office it will arrive in about 9 days...They provide the box...
Sometimes you get away with p40 at the Dgte post office. I've read LBC and FeEx UPS are a guaranteed duty Christmas is probably the worst time of year to hope your small box makes it intact
