I'm putting together a trip to Bohol in a couple of weeks - the first time I have visited the island, since 2006.

I understand that the power is pretty much back to normal.

I have my accommodation on Panglao sorted, but may wish to spend some time in the southern section. I know places to stay in Tagbilaran if I need to but what I am really looking for is an affordable room on the highway between Tag and Jagna.

I stayed at the Garden Cafe or Idea Pension House in Jagna before, but the price has now increased to 1,200 - just not worth it for a fairly ordinary pension room in a provincial town.

are there any other options in Jagna town or nearby?

I am not interested in poncy, overpriced resorts.

I am aware of Nuts Huts, but never stayed there. Does anyone know how did they fare with the earthquake? Do they hire out motorbikes?

will consider any pension house along the southern highway in any town between Tag,and Jag and a little bit beyond.

I stayed at nuts huts and hated it if you took a philipino there they would think its crazy why would you pay 1000p to sleep in a nipa hut in the jungle?
Its a long way off the hiway down a crappy road then a long walk down stairs food is alright at best and they shut everything down by 10 to preserve the peace lol you won,t believe how loud the jungle is at night and the resto is far away from the huts

crappy foam beds , tons of insects , mosquto nets with holes, nothing to do, and you can hear the hut next door like there sitting with you because they are attached rooms with a nipa wall .

your way better off staying in panglao and just traveling to the sights they are all close and bikes are easy to rent there

    Hi Lee

I thought Nuts Huts was less than that, but like I said it's been a while since I was on Bohol. Idea Pension in Jagna was 780 I think (overpriced in those days) and now it is 1,200. I rang up a somewhat irritable Euro kano back at Nuts Huts then and he said the rooms were 500. His attitude meant that I did not stay there.

might be using Jagna port. So will have to ditch/return a rented motorbike if I do.
