Thursday Evening. around 6.30 we were in Lee Plaza, a little oldish lady (local) Stumbled over a box, being opened by staff. She unfortunately skinned her hand on a sales fixing as she fell. She bled some, as one would suspect, her cloths were quite covered in Blood. being a light colour, I would imagine hard, to remove the stains.

The Staff and security, Helped the lady and a Supervisor was sent for.

The crowd was Gathering so we moved on. I am not, ghoulish but my wife can be. She did however inquire later, what happened to the little old lady. The Supervisor (My wife knew her, the Supervisor that is) she just said, OH! we dressed the Hand and sponged her cloths and she went on Shopping.

Of course in the West, things would have been Different. Doctor, Ambulance, Medical Centre.

I know where I am and the Rose coloured Glasses came of years ago but I have to ask myself and maybe others can tell me. Is there, any such thing as H&S or In deed any, Public Liability Insurance? Who Knows what other injury's this lady might have suffered (Did she hit her Head when she Stumbled?) What would happen, if she has some sort of relapse or gets a blood infection?

If there is No Public Liability, who pays

Larger companies purchase liability insurance, but it is not mandatory. It seems that basically, the Phils is like most of Asia in that you are responsible for the actions of your own feet. If they fail to hold you up, that's your problem and if you do any damage to items in the store while you are falling, you can pay for them, too. Of course, "blame" and "liability" are always negotiable depending on who has more influence.

Lee Plaza wouldn't pay sh*t for anyone. My sister in law was there shopping a few years ago when they had the fire there. She went for the doors at the main entrance, just to find them locked by the guards from outside, preventing people to come out, as they feared they were looting. I have done only very few purchases there since then, only for items I couldn't find elsewhere.

Liability insurance is to protect the business owner from rich people who can afford good lawyers. Everyone else...go suck an egg...Foreigners..pay us for allowing you to fall on our floor and impede customer traffic flow.:p
