    On 12/11/2013 a dead Giant Squid was spotted near the sanctuary in front of Lowland Beach Resort in Dauin.

    You may. Supposedly the beast is being towed to Silliman now for analysis. My wife (on the kayak) said it was badly decomposed w/ many "tentacles" hanging off in the water. To me it looks more like a bloated whale and possibly the "tentacles" are the exposed intestines. View attachment 9816 . Here is the beak: View attachment 9817 , which is at Lowland Resort.

    Here's another photo of the beak: View attachment 9818 . I Googled Giant Squid Beak and the images that came up were far smaller than this one. This could be a record size specimen !

    its look like a giant whale , when I saw it. Its rotting now on the beach while locals are trying to tear it apart and making money out of it.
    And its Not being towed to Silliman now for analysis.(1:00pmDecember 11 2013 ) Its still in Masaplod North been tickled by the local and soon it would be teeth and boneless.

    BTW: a small tooth price is 1500peso

    a.) did the fishermen wrestle it to death barehanded?
    b.) did it have an oil-rig in its stomach?
    c.) was it posted on facebook and therefore must be true?

    I was given a block of frozen giant squid meat some time ago. I was expecting it to be tough but it was remarkably tender. They wash up on the beach now and then.
