ANYONE OUT THERE CA HELP ME?

I have a Land Cruiser Prado 1996, the ECU has died, tried all over Philippines and the world on line, ether no reply or no stock, I need: Toyota OEM-code:89661-60520, Computer, engine control.

Anyone have a part for sale, or know of where I might find a part?

    Thanks, Tony

In Au we use to be able to get them repaired in most cases, here is a link in uk about repairers, what is wrong with your ecu?

    Try this website Tony,

Toyota 89661-60520 Computer, engine control - Toyota genuine OEM part

Toyota ECM, ECU rebuilding service $250. 18 month warranty, unlimited mileage

There are also a few places where you can send your ECU and they will repair it and send it back to you. Also, if needed, can the local Toyota dealer reflash or reload the programming if needed for a new/rebuild ECU? Another thing, many ECU are shared by different mfg's/models. The numbers in your post are the Toyota Part numbers. If you PM me ECU mfg/mdl #, (It will be on a sticker inside the ECU on the circuit board), I can search my database for other vehicles that use that same ECU.

    Hope this helps!

True, if you aren't up to doing some work. I have taken ECU's from other vehicles that used the same ECU but different case, put them in the case that matches the vehicle it will be installed on, made any changes to the plug configuration that was needed and used them and they worked fine. Some needed reprogramming, some didn't. I've done this 4 times building custom cars.

As you suggest, the most common failure points are soldered joints and leaking capacitors. Broken joints can be repaired, leaking capacitors not so easy as the leakage may cause other damage to the board.

I would suggest this company. I have used them twice in the past and have received good service from them. I have no idea whether they would work with an international customer.

Thanks to you Blokes who gave me feedback and suggestions on how to fix my ECU problem.

Unfortunately I have tried these, as we know, try to get a business to help and assist here is very hard, don't want to know you.

So it looks like I will be taking the part to Aussie with me in the new year to try to get it fixed or find another one on my 2 month trip down the West Coast from Darwin to Margret River.

May bring more than one back if I find them, worth gold here!

    Tony
